Alyssa had barely awoken when a stream of sunlight seeped through her window straight to her eyes. She closed her eyes and shook her head trying to orientate herself. She looked down feeling pressure on her stomach and noticed an arm wrapped around her waist. Forgetting about the previous night's events, she almost screamed as she turned around to see Aegon fast asleep in front of her. Slowly her memory started coming back to her, where had that pillow gone? Why were his arms around her? What was the hour?

Reluctant to disrupt his sleep, she watched his chest rise and fall so peacefully. Surely the alcohol would be worn off by now and he would be fine to make his way back across the Keep to his chambers. She had never noticed how silver his hair was, but with the light reflecting on it he seemed ethereal, almost angelic. A complete parallel to his state of the previous night. She snapped out of her disrupted thoughts to shake him gently.

"Get up, Aegon. It's already bright out."

Aegon moved slightly at her touch, opening his eyes.

"Is it morning already?"

Unimpressed by his stupidity, she began pushing him towards the edge of the bed, "It is time for you to go, Aegon. In case you didn't notice the bright sunlight that clearly signifies morning?"

Aegon laughed, "We might as well go together to breakfast, although on second thoughts, I am not sure I would like to be associated with a princess who hangs out in whorehouses and taverns."

"Just get up, I am going to get changed." Alyssa exclaimed sitting up. She decided to ignore his hand on her waist and not say anything about it. He probably got confused and thought he was back with his whore from the night before.

Alyssa changed into a long green gown that she found in her wardrobe. She never wore green but it was the first thing she saw so she went with it, ignoring any political affiliations the colour may have held. Presenting herself once more in front of Aegon, he grinned when he saw her gown but before he could comment she pointed to the door and they were on their way to the dinning hall.

The corridors were empty than usual and Alyssa noted that there were no servants or maids around which was strange. Making their way as fast as possible, they took note of the silence around the Keep, it was no longer full of people walking around and chatting. But instead empty and solemn. Alyssa looked questioningly at Aegon but he just shrugged ignoring it.

As they arrived they noticed the room was empty. All that worry about being late and rumours of why they were entering together just for the room to be empty. Before Alyssa could sit down however Helaena walked in.

"Aegon, mother wants to speak with you." She announced looking down at her gown.

Alyssa noted her melancholy, there was something else apart from her usual timidness. "What's wrong, Hel?" She questioned hoping to make sense of the situation.

Aegon looked equally concerned for once at his wife's tone and took off to find Alicent.

Before Alyssa could move Helaena announced stoically, "The king is dead."

"What?" Was all Alyssa could muster. Her grandfather seemed fine enough the previous night in his condition so how could he be dead now?

"What happened?" She asked but to no avail. Helaena simply shrugged and at this Alyssa wanted so deeply to comfort her but she did not know how.

"I'm so sorry, Helaena. I must go see my mother." It was no use though, she searched almost every room in the Keep to find no one. Upon searching for her mother all around the castle she finally gave up and returned to her quarters where she discovered a note upon her table.
