Chapter 2, offer?

"L/n-chan?"

Kagaya called softly, you where kneeling across from eachother on the tatami mats of the ubayashiki estate

"Y-yes, Oyakata-sama?"

You uttered in response, stuttering slightly as you spoke, yet your tone remained calm. The master had requested the two of you have  a chat after the hashira meeting. You were unsure if you had done something wrong or not, yet you couldn't help but relax at the sound of his calm tone.

"My child, you've grown so much since you first picked up a sword, I'm proud."

His words made your heart flutter, you bowed deeply in response

"Thank you, Oyakata-sama. Although I owe it all to you, you took me in temporarily all those years ago. In fact, I owe you with my life."

You replied, your tone was warm and sincere, you really did appreciate him. Though you were cut from your train of thought as he spoke again.

"But I have a favour. I think you should train with Shinazugawa-san. I'm aware that both of your breathing styles aren't too similar, but I think it would benefit the both of you to spar together atleast once."

You looked into his eyes as he spoke once more, tilting your head slightly at his request. 'Shinazugawa-san? Hm.. I guess it could be good for practice to spar with him a few times.. I guess oyakata-sama is right.' You pondered before you responded.

"Of course, Oyakata-sama. I— I'll do that. Thank you for your time."

You replied again with a bow before you stood up, slid your seethed katana into your belt once more and left, bowing again slightly as you exited.

"I trust he'll take good care of her.."

Kagaya muttered to himself when you were out of ear-shot. He noticed how his gaze softened slightly when he looked at you. He had a small hope that the two of you would get along well.

As you stepped down from the ubayashiki estates engawa, your slippers fresh on your feet your crow fluttered down from a nearby tree and onto your shoulder

"Shinazugawa-san has heard oyakata-samas wishes!! He requests you arrive at his estate soon!!"

Your crow informed you as you ruffled its feathers lightly, smiling at its words

"Thank you, Mimi! Tell him I will be at his estate before noon tomorrow."

You replied to the crow, smiling kindly as it nodded and flew away once more, off to the shinazugawa residence.
