"Junie, can you had me the pin and clip?" JJ asks me.

Me, JJ, Pope, and Kiara are all in JJ's dad's garage. JJ is connecting the boat to Kiara's car so we can get it out on the water.

I find the pin and clip in the box of tools and hold it out to him, "here, babe."

He looks at me with a grin as he shakes his head, "how do you know all this stuff?" He asks me, "Pope barely knows this stuff."

"Hey!" Pope shouts.

I shrug, "my dad taught me a long time ago."

He smiles at me then continues to connect the car and tow.

Someone's phone starts going off so I look at mine and JJ's, "it's not ours." I tell Pope and Kiara.

Pope looks at his and shakes his head then Kiara picks her phone up, "it's Sarah," she says as she answers the call and holds it to her ear, "hey, what's up?"

I hear Sarah talking through the phone but I can't make out any of the words. After a few minutes, Kiara hangs up the phone.

Kiara gets up from her seat, "John B and Sarah are gonna need a ride. Rose took Sarah's car."

"Oh my god." I say under my breath.

"You guys go and me and Jay will meet all of you at the doc." I tell Kiara and Pope.

They say okay then leave the garage together. When JJ is done connecting the boat, he starts making sure that the boat is working.

While he is doing that, I am sitting next to him with a book in my lap. I read it and every once in a while I will check on JJ.

Twenty minutes later, I hear the sound of motorcycles driving in the distance but it gets louder and louder every second.

"JJ."

"Hm?" He asks as he looks at me.

"Someone's here." I tell him.

He cusses to himself and jumps up then he quickly gets of the boat and goes to close the garage doors but Rafe and Barry slip in right before they are fully closed.

"Why are you guys here?" JJ asks them.

Barry scoffs at him, "you know why," he tells him then he punches him in the face.

"Oh my god!" I shout as I jump off the boat and rush to JJ.

I am stopped when Rafe trips me then stomps on my leg.

I let out a yelp of pain and look over to see Barry punching JJ over and over again.

Rafe picks me up by the arms and forces me to walk backwards.

"Rafe- Rafe please let me go!" I yell at him but he doesn't.

I scratch his arms to try to get him to let me go but he doesn't resist.
I look at JJ again and he is still getting punched and kicked by Barry.

"JJ! JJ, it's gonna be okay!" I shout to him.

Rafe lets go of one of my arms and covers my mouth and I quickly take the chance and rip my other arm out of his hold and rush to JJ's side.

Rafe catches me and pulls me back again, "you aren't gonna help him." He says to me then looks at Barry, "bring him over here." He tells him.

Barry picks up JJ by the arms as Rafe continues to push me backwards.

"Rafe! Please just let go of Emery and do whatever you planned to do to her to me! Please! She doesn't deserve this but I do!" JJ shouts at him.

I shake my head, "JJ stop!" I yell as I feel something against the back of my legs. I know it's not the wall because I would've felt more of that.
Rafe looks back at Barry and JJ, "make sure he watches this," he tells Barry.

Barry nods then the next thing I know, I am being pushed back into water.

I try to pull myself up, but I can't because Rafe is holding me down as hard as he can.

I feel water start to enter my lungs and I hear JJ begging Rafe to let me go.

Rafe continues to hold me under the water for so long that I can't take it anymore and I stop fighting it...

"Junie! Emery! Answer me please!"

"Emery! Emery wake up!"

"It's gonna be okay."

I break out in an unstoppable cough and water pours down my face.

I see JJ, John B, and Kiara all kneeling around me.

When I finish coughing all the water out of my lungs, I look at everyone.

"What the fuck just happened?" I ask then I choke out a laugh.

Everyone looks at each other with confused looks on their faces. I continue to laugh then after a second, Kiara starts to laugh, then everyone else but JJ.

"We should get going." He tells all of us.

We all agree then we load into Kiara's car and head to the doc.

After we set off on the water, I sat JJ down and got the first aid kit to start cleaning up his wounds.

He has a bruised eye, busted lip, and a cut on his jawline. We sit in silence as I clean him up and make sure he is okay.

When I'm done, I sit next to JJ and he squeezes my hand, "are you sure you're okay?"

I sigh, "I'm, um, I'm a little nauseous and I have some pain in my chest..."

He wraps his arm around my shoulder and hugs me to his chest.
"I love you," he tells me.

I hug his waist, "I love you too... I'm sorry you had to watch that."

He lets out a sad sigh and hugs me tighter, "I'm sorry you had to go through it."

I kiss him then hug his waist again and the two of us get comfortable in our spot on the boat.
