Request from a friend

You sat silently at your desk, hardly blinking as you focused intently on building your TCG deck. A small hand tugged at your forearm. "Traveler!" The infamous Spark Knight whined. "You promised to come fish blasting with me!"

You only spared her a glance. "Sorry, Klee. Give me five minutes." You patted her dismissively on the head. She pouted, but followed your directions, sitting in a chair in the corner of your office. For a child, she kept herself entertained rather well. Considering your "five minutes" turned into half an hour, you were impressed.

"Alright, you ready, goober?" You finally stood up, stretching out your stiff back. Hunching over a deck of cards was definitely not the kindest on your body. Her eyes lit up as she nodded profusely. "Give Klee minute! I gotta go get my new and improved Jumpty-Dumpty from the solitary room!" The little girl scrambled out of the door ahead of you, while you sighed out a laugh and prepared your bag with hydro essences in case of fires.

Deciding to wait at the front door for the little ball of energy, you set down your supplies and waited, chatting with Lisa in the meantime. However, Klee did not emerge as quickly as she left. After waiting for around twenty minutes, you decided to approach the solitary door, bidding the librarian farewell. Wood, the guard outside of solitary, nodded dutifully as you approached. You returned the gesture as you slipped into Klee's room.

There were no explosions or plumes of smoke present, which was a good sign. Scanning the room for your fellow knight, you found her in a corner, intently working on stitching up a stuffed doll. "Klee? You good?"

She startled at the sound of her name. "Oh! Yeah, I just had to repair this stuffy. He looked a little raggedy." She assured you. You tilted your head in confusion. "That's not a bomb, is it?" You asked, perplexed.

"Nope! I just wanted to fix him up real quick!" Klee smiled. It fell a little as she saw your amused expression. "What?" Chuckling, you shook your head and waved it off. "I'll tell you when we get moving." You promised. Klee nodded cheerfully, grabbing her backpack and following you out the door. "You're my storm watcher, remember? So warn Klee if you see Jean coming our way!" She instructed, leading you to a quiet spot near the backside of Cider Lake, just west of the Stormbearer Mountains. You nodded at her instructions.

"Also," the little girl added, "what was so funny back at home?" You grinned again. "We're just similar, in a way." You plucked a sweet flower from the ground as you passed by, placing it on Klee's head. She giggled, grabbing it from atop her hat and sticking it in a pouch on her bag. "How?" She asked. "Well, we both aren't great at remembering times! Like that one time I showed up an hour late to the Knights meeting because I was too focused on fishing."

The Spark Knight nodded. "Or the time Klee forgot to go up to visit big brother Albedo's lab on Dragonspine because she was making more bombs!" She added. You laughed at the memory.

The alchemist had come rushing down the mountain and all the way into Mondstadt, frantically searching for his sister. He was panting something about her freezing to death and the coat he'd personally fashioned to keep her warm. When he burst into the Knights of Favonius Headquarters, only to see his little sister carrying a giant Jumpty-Dumpty across the hallway, he sank to the ground in relief.

You nudged the little girl affectionately. "Plus we both get really focused on whatever we're doing and lose track of time. It's already happened to both of us today!" You pointed out. The legendary girl in red laughed, setting down her bag and pulling out a bomb. "Master Jean says it's bothersome how Klee never remembers what she was doing. Last night, while she and Miss Lisa were eating dinner with Klee, Klee forgot she was getting water and went to the library. Miss Lisa found Klee and just dragged her by the hand back to dinner." She explained.

A grin formed on your lips. If she'd done that while she was visiting Albedo, he would've had to chase her all around his campsite just to eat her dinner. "Well, I would walk around the library with you; we could get distracted together." You joked, and Klee laughed.

"Oh, here's my extra-splodey bomb!" She exclaimed, pulling out a large bomb with a cute face sewn on. She placed it on the ground beside her bag, latching it shut before walking to the water's edge and lighting a bomb. You diligently kept watch for the Acting Grand Master, half listening as the Spark Knight jumped from one topic to another. First, she was talking about what she had for dinner at HQ. Then, she compared that to what she ate when she was up at Albedo's place. Next she began explaining why she liked everyone in Mondstadt, then why she didn't like the 'red guy from Angel's Share'. That led into her explaining why she ate snow on Dragonspine once, and that reminded her that she forgot to bring back a letter from Albedo for Sucrose.

...

The water's surface rippled as charred fish floated to the surface. Collecting the earnings of your adventure using your hydro manipulation, you placed them in a container and shut it tight. "Want to go see if we can use Sara's stove?" You asked as Klee repacked her extra bombs. "Mhm! We can make my special Fish-Flavored Toast, and bring it to Razor and his pack!" She decided, following you on the walk back to the city. Soon after, you departed the city of wine and song again, this time in possession of several servings of Klee's favorite dish.

The two of you set out into Wolvendom, searching for the wolf boy. You found him near Andrius' arena, picking wolfhook berries. When he noticed you and Klee, he broke into a smile. "Lupicals! Why are you here?" He asked, scooting over to make room for you on the grass.

"Hi, Razor! We brought my special toast, the one that you liked last time!" Klee held up a plate, smiling widely.

The boy grinned, taking the toast with a soft "many thanks" and biting into it. His eyes sparkled. "Red lupical, this is very yummy!" Razor proclaimed around his mouthful of food. Klee laughed. "Good! Traveler helped me make it!" You nodded. "Fluffy lupical! I like it." He held up the toast. By "fluffy" lupical, you assumed he meant your fox ears. With a sudden realization, you lit up with a topic to discuss. "Oh, that reminds me..."

You would proceed to talk for over half an hour.

...

Klee flopped into her bed, hair wet and wearing a white nightgown with little red ribbons attached. You smiled softly. It had taken an additional hour after you returned to HQ to convince Klee to get ready for bed. She kept promising to do "just one more thing" until you had to drag her away from her bomb supplies. She really was just like you.

"Are you leaving already?" She whined. You nodded, patting her head gently.

"Yes, Klee. Albedo is putting you down tonight, remember?" She huffed out a noise of annoyance. "Fine. G'night, Traveler!" She waved as you traded positions with the alchemist.

"Good night, Klee." You smiled, shutting her bedroom door softly.
