Request from a friend
"Morning, Mr. Naganohara!" You greeted your girlfriend's father as you carried a crate of fireworks into the shop. "Hello, Traveler! Ah, did my daughter request your help with our shipment again?" He asked, laughing. "No, sir- I offered to help!" You replied just as the woman of topic walked inside, carrying another crate.
She grinned. "Hi, Pops! She's helping with the supply shipment!" She said loudly. He chuckled good-heartedly. "I figured as much." He told his daughter, ruffling her hair affectionately as he passed her.
"I'm heading off for Komore Teahouse, ladies. I would tell you not to set anything on fire, but that's sort of our whole business. So, don't set anything on fire without ear protection!" He laughed, shutting the sliding door behind him.
Yoimiya grinned, and you snickered at the old man. Turning to help your partner with the last crate, you lifted it out of her arms.
"Excited for tonight?" She asked, a mischievous smirk dancing on her lips. You rolled your eyes and she pressed a kiss to your cheek. "You mean am I excited to annoy the Shogunate with you? Yes." She laughed out loud and began unpacking the crates. You took up a position on the other side of the table, lifting out a container of gunpowder from the wooden box.
As she passed you a container from her own box, you had a sudden thought. "What if we don't make it off Tenshukaku premises before the guards surround the area? Or what if we get seperated?"
The wooden shelf made a concerning creak as you placed the packaged materials on top. "I dunno.." A tickle at your side made you jump. Turning to look at her, you furrowed your eyebrows. "Yoimiyaaa!" You pouted.
She withdrew her hand, giggling. "Sorry, sparkles." She teased, and you narrowed your eyes menacingly. Returning from standing on your tiptoes, you held up your hands and wiggled your fingers.
"Ack! A monster!" She yelped. With a roar, you dove after her with your arms outstretched.
You chased her around the shop for a good minute; Yoimiya was, in fact, a very agile person. She evaded your grasp for a while- until she got caught on the edge of the center table. You seized the opportunity and wrapped your arms around her waist, tackling her to the floor. She laughed and squirmed as you tickled her incessantly. It was only when she cackled for a timeout that you let her go, and she sat up, panting and giggling.
"You.. you are the worst!" She laughed breathlessly. "You love me for it." You retorted confidently.
Offering a hand to you after rising herself, she helped you up. "Of course I do." She stuck out her tongue playfully. "Now, let's see. We have everything except the grand finale firework. That's partially why I wanted your help with this shipment." She explained. Watching as she lifted a small box out of the crate, you couldn't help but wonder what was so special about this particular explosive.
Yoimiya seemed to read your mind. "This is the last one we'll set off before we go. It's got orange, for me, and of course.." She trailed off, and you promptly finished the statement with your favorite color.
"Right! Obviously, I don't want the Shogunate to know it was us, but it'd be really funny!"
You rolled your eyes affectionately at her before helping to finish the firework.
...
Shit shit shit shit shit.
You repeatedly cursed in your head as you dove for a bush. You did your best to keep up with your girlfriend, fixing your eyes on her form in front of yours. How the hell did we end up like this?? Your mind raced.
