"What?! Wait, no! Back up- don't come any closer!"
You balled your hands into fists and resisted the urge to draw your sword. "Don't fight back, Traveler. It'll only make it more difficult for you." A millelith soldier furrowed his eyebrows.
Shit. What do I do? They're mortals; I can't attack them.
You flattened your ears as the men encroached on you. Someone grabbed your arm and you rounded on them, baring your fox fangs. "He's attacking! Don't hold back!" You heard a voice shout, and suddenly everyone was pressing closer, seizing any part of you that could be reached. "Wait! I'm not attacking- stop, I-" Your voice couldn't be heard over the shouting of the guards.
Forced to your knees, you felt the scrape of a boot on your back. You were pressed to the ground, your cheek becoming covered with dirt and gravel. "He's been subdued, Lady Tianquan. What would you like done with him?" A guard asked.
The familiar voice of Ningguang carried over the soldiers, and they fell silent to listen to her orders. "Take the traitor to the dungeon. You may decided what to do with him from there. Oh, and take that sword." From through the legs of the millelith soldiers, you could see the cold eyes of the Tianquan. No remorse shone in them. The men nodded, twisting your arms behind your back as they removed your sword from its sheath.
You felt yourself being lifted from the ground and struggled to get free, kicking and shouting for them to let you go. Each time you did, you were met with a swift punch to the gut.
Eventually, you were thrown into a small, dark room that had a faint smell of mold. "So.. what now?" One soldier asked. "Well, Lady Ningguang said it was up to us how to deal with him for now, right? So I say we make the best of that offer." Even without seeing the man's face, you could tell that he was smiling maliciously.
"What are you- AGH!" You cried out as a spear stabbed into your shoulder. "Hey, no talking back!" Another jab dug into your thigh. "It's what a traitor deserves, after all!" The blunt end of another spear hit you over the head, and you hissed in pain.
You had no idea how long this was going to drag on for. Every second felt like a minute, every minute like an hour. When the guards decided they'd had their fun with you, they shut your cell door and left you alone in the dark, cramped space.
On the brink of tears, you shifted into a fox and curled up in a corner, pain searing every part of your body. Shivering, you squeezed your eyes shut and tried to rest. Anything to escape the horrible agony you were in.
Your quiet whines were the only noise as you passed out.
...
The door to your cell squeaked open, and your ears perked up. Opening your eyes, you growled weakly at the shadow standing over you. They had a hand behind the door which you thought was holding a lantern. You tried to press closer into the corner, whining softly. "Stop.." you yipped helplessly. Your legs burned and stung, and all across your body you knew there were cuts and bruises. I'm in no position to escape. You realized. Let's just hope they're nicer than last time. The person shut the door behind them quietly. Lifting the lantern higher, they finally let light fall across their features.
Ganyu?!
Her face twisted into an expression of worry as she saw you. "Traveler?!" She gasped, seeming just as shocked as you. She set down the lantern hurriedly as she sat by your side. "Oh, Traveler. What in the name of Rex Lapis? Why are you.." She reached out a tentative hand to pet your head, and you flinched away.
