Let your eyes flutter
Over the fallen city
The flaming skies
Towers that were once stone
Now pillars of smoke
Bodies pile the streets
Tears and screams
Of mothers and children alike

Let your tears flit
Down soft rosey cheeks
From coral eyes
Sculpted into a strong skull
One that dawned a crown
Given by the people
Who once lived in the city
Safe and comfortable
Until the explosions started

Let yourself fall
Down on your knees
And bow your head
Dark horses run rampant
Where are your knights now?
Without a King
The Queen is so vulnerable

Let the pain bloom from your chest
Just as blood blooms
In every street and alleyway
Across every cobblestone
Through every threshold
Doors and arches
That once seemed safe
Now are nothing but omens
Of failure and wrath
Under a bloodbathed sky

Let the fall of this court
Remind you how your people
Trusted you with everything
And still lost
More than what they gave
How selfish and cruel
To savor your own life
When the ones you serve
Are mangled in the destruction below

Let the shame flow
Through your mangled
Broken soul
Even as a dark knight's sword
Is raised high above you
Knowing you could've done more
But instead you placed yourself
And your greedy desires
Above the ones
That truly mattered

Let the sword fall
Severing your head
From your dainty shoulders
The dusty lilac dress
Stained with red
That will never wash clean
Just as your sins
Each counted on an itemized list
Will never be punished
Enough for acceptable justice
