When did the world stop giving out smiles?
And when did creativity get so scarce?
Did imagination go away with the times?
The games and characters we made up,
Were they left to be forgotten?
This new generation seems to be lacking,
Or maybe that's just me.
But maybe how I feel isn't relevant anymore.
Not since the color evaporated from the air,
And the birds got quieter.
The wildlife more scattered,
The air harder to breathe.
Maybe that's why we stopped giving out smiles.
Because we realized we don't have an endless supply.
Not anymore.
Not since everything began to get so dull.
So we started to horde them,
Allowing smiles for special occasions,
But nothing more.
I wish it was easier to smile.
