Chapter 9
The following days were a whirlwind of emotions for Amina. She tried to focus on her work and daily routine, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Zayd and his past with Leila. She trusted Zayd, but the uncertainty gnawed at her.

One evening, after a particularly long day at work, Amina decided to visit her favorite café in Bauchi State for some tea and a moment of quiet reflection. As she sipped her tea, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Zayd.

"Can we meet tonight? I've decided what to do about Leila," it read.

Amina's heart raced. She quickly replied, agreeing to meet him at the park where they often met. The park had become their sanctuary, a place where they could talk openly and honestly.

When Amina arrived, she saw Zayd waiting by their usual bench. His expression was calm, but there was a hint of resolve in his eyes. As she approached, he greeted her with a warm smile.

"Amina, thank you for coming," he said.

"Of course, Zayd. I've been thinking a lot about what you told me," Amina replied, her voice steady.

Zayd nodded. "I wanted to be completely open with you, Amina. I've decided to meet Leila and hear what she has to say. I think it's important for both of us to have closure."

Amina appreciated his honesty but couldn't help the flutter of nerves in her stomach. "I understand, Zayd. I trust you. I just hope it doesn't complicate things for us."

Zayd reached out, his eyes sincere. "Amina, you are my future. This meeting with Leila is just a way to close a chapter of my past so I can move forward with you without any lingering doubts."

Amina felt a wave of relief wash over her. "Thank you for being so open with me, Zayd. I support you."

Zayd smiled, a look of gratitude in his eyes. "You don't know how much that means to me, Amina."

They decided to take a walk through the park, enjoying the cool evening air. As they walked, they talked about their dreams and aspirations, the conversation flowing easily between them.

The next evening, Zayd met Leila at a quiet café. Amina spent the evening in prayer, asking for strength and guidance. She knew this was a necessary step for Zayd, but it didn't make the waiting any easier.

When Zayd finally called her later that night, his voice was calm and steady. "Amina, can we talk?"

"Of course," Amina replied, her heart pounding.

"I met with Leila," Zayd began. "She apologized for how things ended between us. She said she made a mistake and wanted to see if we could start over."

Amina's heart sank, but she remained silent, letting Zayd continue.

"But I told her that I've moved on," Zayd said firmly. "I told her about you, and how much you mean to me. She understood, and we both agreed that it was best to part ways for good."

Amina felt a mix of relief and happiness. "Thank you for telling me, Zayd. I'm glad you could get the closure you needed."

"I couldn't have done it without your support, Amina," Zayd said, his voice filled with warmth. "I'm more certain than ever that you are the one I want to build my future with."

Tears welled up in Amina's eyes, but they were tears of joy. "Thank you, Zayd. I feel the same way."

The next few weeks passed in a blur of happiness and anticipation. Amina and Zayd's relationship grew stronger, and they continued to support each other in their personal and professional lives.

One evening, as they were walking through the park, Zayd turned to Amina with a thoughtful expression. "Amina, there's something I've been wanting to ask you."

Amina looked at him, curiosity in her eyes. "What is it, Zayd?"

Zayd took a deep breath, his eyes locking onto hers. "Amina, will you marry me?"

Amina's heart soared. She had dreamed of this moment but hadn't expected it to come so soon. "Yes, Zayd. I will marry you."

Amina felt a sense of completeness and joy she had never known before. The challenges they had faced together had only made their bond stronger.

However, their journey was far from over. As they began to plan their future together, they knew there would be more obstacles to overcome and more lessons to learn. But with their faith and love as their guide, they were ready to face whatever came their way.

As they walked back to their cars, Amina's phone buzzed with a message from her father. "Can we talk? There's something important I need to discuss with you."

Amina felt a pang of curiosity. What could her father want to talk about now? She looked at Zayd, who nodded encouragingly.

"Go ahead, Amina. I'll see you tomorrow," he said.

Amina smiled, grateful for Zayd's unwavering support. She called her father, wondering what new twist life had in store for her next.

Okay, an understanding girlfriend like Amina 🤔 I wonder what will happen next. Isn't the will you marry me too soon, I mean she agreed to marry him too soon, right?  So what do u think will Amina and Zady get married?
