I am just going to avoid him . It's a matter of a few days only

Divya thought harshly as she stepped onto the field for practice, the familiar scent of freshly cut grass and the distant sound of leather meeting willow greeting her. They were in dharamshala for the fifth and final test .

The players were already warming up, going through their drills with the typical mix of seriousness and camaraderie. Her eyes scanned the field, subconsciously looking for Yashasvi, even though she had vowed to avoid him.

At the far end, Yashasvi was working on his batting technique with the coach. His focus was intense, every muscle taut as he concentrated on perfecting his stance. Divya tried to shake off the flutter in her chest, attributing it to the residual effects of her conversation with Gaurav. She needed to stay professional and detached.

"Divya, can you help us with the warm-up exercises?" Fielding Coach Dilip's voice broke her train of thought. She nodded, grateful for the distraction, and moved to join the group.

The morning progressed smoothly. Divya's mind was occupied with assessing the players' conditions and suggesting exercises to prevent injuries. She kept herself busy, trying to avoid any direct interaction with Yashasvi. However, as fate would have it, their paths crossed during a break.

"Hey, Divya," Yashasvi said, walking up to her with a tentative smile. "You okay?"

Divya's heart skipped a beat at the sound of his voice. She had been so determined to avoid him, but now here he was, standing right in front of her. She took a deep breath, trying to maintain her composure. "I'm fine, Yashasvi," she replied, forcing a smile. "Just busy, you know, with the team's recovery and all."

Yashasvi nodded, his eyes searching hers for a moment. "I understand. I just wanted to make sure you're okay after... well, after everything."

Divya's mind raced back to the day she had broken down in front of him. She had been at her lowest, feeling the weight of her past with Gaurav and the stress of her responsibilities. Yashasvi had been there, unexpectedly supportive, and it had left her feeling vulnerable and confused.

"Thank you, Yashasvi," she said quietly. "I appreciate your concern."

He hesitated, as if considering his next words carefully. "You know, it's okay to have moments of weakness. We're all human, after all."

Divya looked at him, taken aback by his empathy. This was the same Yashasvi she had clashed with so often, yet here he was, offering her understanding and kindness. She felt a surge of warmth towards him but quickly pushed it down, reminding herself of her resolve to remain professional.

"I know," she replied softly. "But I need to focus on my work now. The team needs me at my best."

Yashasvi nodded, a hint of disappointment in his eyes.

As he walked away, she couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. Avoiding him was supposed to make things easier, but it only seemed to intensify her feelings. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, and returned to her tasks.

Throughout the rest of the practice session, Divya kept herself busy, attending to the players and ensuring they were following their recovery routines. She did her best to ignore the flutter in her chest every time she saw Yashasvi, focusing instead on her duties.
