The Indian cricket team arrived in Ranchi for the next test match, the atmosphere a mix of anticipation and exhaustion. The players, slightly jet-lagged from their travels, needed to recover quickly for the upcoming game. Divya, the team's leader, found herself the sole provider of recovery sessions as the rest of her team was still catching up on sleep.
In the dimly lit physiotherapy room, Divya prepared the equipment, her mind focused on the task ahead. She glanced at the clock, noting that Yashasvi and Shubman were due for their session soon.
Things with Yashasvi were a bit awkward at the moment. She didn't know why, but every time they were in the same room, she found herself staring at him, observing him, trying to decipher the source of her sudden fascination. She shook her head, reminding herself of their rocky history. Yashasvi was known for his unyielding competitive spirit, which often clashed with Divya's more strategic approach.
Divya was adjusting the therapy bed when the door opened, and Gaurav walked in, a familiar yet unexpected presence. The room seemed to shrink, the tension palpable.
"Hey Divya," Gaurav greeted, his voice carrying a hint of nostalgia. "Long time no see."
Divya forced a smile, masking the sudden rush of memories and emotions. "Gaurav, what brings you here?"
Gaurav shrugged, leaning casually against the wall. "Just checking in. Thought you might need some help with the recovery sessions. Plus, I heard Yashasvi and Shubman are up next. Need an extra hand?"
Divya hesitated, her mind racing. "Thanks, but I've got it under control," she replied, trying to sound confident.
Gaurav nodded, his eyes lingering on her for a moment longer than necessary. "Alright, but we can finish our earlier conversation until they come."
Divya's heart skipped a beat at Gaurav's suggestion. She remembered all too well their last conversation, the small exchange that had opened her scars again.
"I don't think that's a good idea," she said firmly, her voice tinged with apprehension. "We both are here for professional reasons so let's keep it there."
Gaurav's expression softened, a flicker of regret crossing his features. "I know, Divya. But we can't keep avoiding each other forever. Let's talk it out, clear the air."
Divya hesitated, torn between the desire to resolve their differences and the fear of reopening old wounds. "I don't know, Gaurav. It's not that simple."
But Gaurav was persistent and frustrated, his eyes searching hers with an intensity that made her uneasy. "Come on Divya, you can't always avoid me just because you feel jealous of me."
