Yashasvi woke up with a smile on his face, the early morning sun casting a gentle glow through the curtains of his room. The memories of the previous evening in the garden with Divya replayed in his mind, filling him with a sense of happiness he hadn't felt in a long time. He glanced at his phone, already looking forward to seeing her again at practice today.

After a quick breakfast, Yashasvi headed to the cricket ground, eager to get started with the day's training. As he arrived, he noticed Dhruv and Riyan already warming up, their usual banter echoing across the field. Yashasvi jogged over to join them, greeting his friends with a nod.

"Look who decided to show up!" Dhruv teased, tossing a cricket ball to Yashasvi.

Riyan smirked. "Yeah, we thought you might still be crying into your protein shake."

Yashasvi laughed, catching the ball effortlessly. "Nope, no tears today. Just ready to hit some boundaries and take some wickets."

As they warmed up, Coach Sangakkara approached with his usual stern expression. "Alright, boys, enough chit-chat. Let's get to work. We've got a tough match ahead."

The practice session was intense, with everyone pushing their limits. Yashasvi found himself stealing glances towards the boundary where Divya was practicing with her team. She caught his eye a few times, and they shared quick, secretive smiles, their little secret adding a thrill to the day's routine.

After hours of rigorous training, the team gathered for a break. Yashasvi sat with Dhruv and Riyan, trying to act normal despite the butterflies in his stomach. He knew he had to be careful not to let anything slip about his relationship with Divya.

"You've been in a good mood lately," Riyan observed, taking a sip of water. "What's your secret, Yashasvi?"

Yashasvi shrugged, keeping his tone light. "Just focusing on the game, I guess. Trying to stay positive and work hard."

Dhruv raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "Come on, there's got to be more to it than that. Spill the beans."

Yashasvi chuckled, shaking his head. "No beans to spill, Dhruv. Just enjoying life and cricket."

Their conversation was interrupted by Coach Sangakkara calling them back to the field. As they resumed practice, Yashasvi felt a renewed sense of determination. He wanted to excel not just for himself, but for Divya too, knowing she was watching and supporting him from the sidelines.

The rest of the day flew by in a blur of drills and strategy sessions. As the sun began to set, signaling the end of practice, Yashasvi felt a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration. He headed back to the team quarters, hoping to catch a few moments with Divya before dinner.

He spotted her near the pavilion, chatting with a few friends. As their eyes met, she excused herself and walked over to him, her smile brightening his day.

"Hey," she greeted softly. "How was practice?"

"Intense, but good," Yashasvi replied, glancing around to make sure no one was watching. "How about you?"

"Pretty much the same," Divya said, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Though I did enjoy watching you sneak glances at me all day."

Yashasvi blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Couldn't help it. Just seeing you makes everything better."

They shared a quiet laugh, the easy rapport between them a stark contrast to the fierce rivalry they once had. It felt surreal, yet wonderfully right.

"I have to get back to my team," Divya said, a hint of reluctance in her voice. "But maybe we can meet later?"

Yashasvi nodded eagerly. "Definitely. I'll text you."

With a final, lingering smile, Divya rejoined her friends, leaving Yashasvi feeling lighter and more content than he had in a long time. As he headed to the dining hall for dinner, he couldn't help but marvel at how much his life had changed in such a short time.

Later that night, after the team had settled in for the evening, Yashasvi found a quiet corner in the lounge . He pulled out his phone and sent a quick message to Divya, his heart racing with anticipation.

Yashasvi: Hey, are you free to talk?

A few moments later, his phone buzzed with a reply.

Divya: Yes, just stepped outside. Meet me in the garden?

Yashasvi slipped out of the common room, making his way to the garden where they had shared their heart-to-heart the previous evening. The night was cool and serene, the stars twinkling above as he approached the bench where Divya was waiting.

"Hey," she greeted with a warm smile as he sat down beside her. "How was dinner?"

"Good," Yashasvi replied, his gaze locked on hers. "But this is better."

They sat in comfortable silence for a while, enjoying the tranquility of the night. Yashasvi felt a sense of peace being with Divya, knowing they could share these quiet moments together away from the prying eyes of their teammates and coaches.

"I'm glad we have this time together," Divya said softly, breaking the silence. "It's nice to just be ourselves without any pressure."

Yashasvi nodded, his hand reaching out to gently clasp hers. "I feel the same way. It's like we have our own little world here."

Divya smiled, squeezing his hand. "We'll make it work, Yashasvi. No matter what."

As they sat there under the starry sky, Yashasvi felt a deep sense of gratitude. For the unexpected turn their relationship had taken, for the support and understanding they shared, and for the promise of a future filled with possibilities.

He knew there would be challenges ahead, but with Divya by his side, he felt ready to face whatever came their way. Together, they would navigate this new beginning, one day at a time.
