The moment the door swung open, Divya was abruptly pinned to the wall, Yashasvi's intense gaze boring into hers. His hands were on either side of her, not touching her but trapping her in the narrow space between him and the wall.
"Yasha, what are you doing?" she asked, wiping away the last of her tears, her voice trembling with surprise. Despite the intensity of the situation, being this close to him felt oddly comforting. She had always felt a magnetic pull towards him, and now, with his proximity, that pull was stronger than ever.
Yashasvi's eyes flashed with anger and hurt. "What am I doing? What are you doing, Divya?" he shot back, his voice low and dangerous. "I heard Ankit in the restaurant. "
Divya's eyes widened in shock. "No, Yashasvi, you don't understand—"
"Understand what?" he interrupted, his tone harsh and filled with bitterness. " That you love him a lot and the kiss between us was just a mistake "
"Stop!" Divya cried, tears streaming down her face again. "You don't know what you're talking about!"
"Then tell me, Divya!" Yashasvi's voice broke, and the anger in his eyes gave way to raw pain. "Tell me what’s going on because seeing you with him, hearing about his feelings for you... it’s tearing me apart."
Divya took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. "Ankit confessed his feelings for me tonight," she began, her voice shaky. "But I told him I didn't feel the same way because... because I like someone else."
Yashasvi's expression shifted, confusion replacing the anger. "Someone else?" he echoed.
Divya hesitated, the weight of her unspoken feelings pressing down on her. She knew she needed to be honest, to clear the air between them once and for all.
"It's you, Only you Yashasvi Jaiswal " she admitted softly, her voice filled with vulnerability.
" But I overheard you that day , you said it was a mistake". Yashasvi replied with disbelief and relief evident in his eyes
" When , what are you talking about ? ". Divya said with confusion
Yashasvi replied, his voice filled with confusion and a hint of vulnerability, "I overheard you talking to Kriti after our kiss. You said it was a mistake, that it shouldn’t have happened. I thought you regretted it."
She remembered the conversation Yashasvi referred to, but it had been taken out of context. She reached out, gently placing a hand on his arm. "Yashasvi, that conversation was about the timing, not about you," she explained, her voice steady and sincere. "I said it was a mistake because I was scared of what it meant, not because I didn't want it."
Yashasvi's eyes searched hers, looking for any hint of deception. He found none. "You mean... you don't regret it, Vya?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Divya shook her head, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "No, Yasha. I've never regretted it. I was just afraid of how much I care about you an I also didn't want a Gaurav 2.0 . I won't be able to handle it ."
The tension in Yashasvi's shoulders seemed to melt away, replaced by a softness that Divya had rarely seen in him. He took a step closer, closing the distance between them. "I am never going to hurt yo , Vya and I was afraid too," he admitted, his voice filled with emotion. "Afraid that you didn't feel the same way."
