SHYANNE SAMUELS
⭐︎

I fold my arms and glare at my coworkers as I listen to their conversation. Dem gyal yah a real yamhead enu!

Wah Lexi mean by the man breed gyal pan her and she take up her money gi di man fi mind him pickney? Me will thump her enuh.

A must joke she a make.

I open my mouth, about to say something when I hear my name being shouted down the hall by my boss. I hope he's calling to tell us that we can leave half day today because he has to leave the country. It was supposed to be last week but he rescheduled to this week, and I haven't heard him say anything about it from morning.

"Coming Mr. Murray," I answer him, giving the girls a look and then scurrying down the hall.

"You called me?" I ask when I'm inside the office.

"Uhh, yeah. Are we done with our appointments for the day?" He inquires.

"Yeah, we're finished."

"Good. I'm taking a quick trip overseas to my mom, I'll be back by tomorrow. If I don't come back on time, you can start for me," he says. "You know what to do right?"

"Yeah, I know."

I am the backbone of this place. Of course I know how to do almost everything he knew how to do. I'm the supervisor for a reason.

"Good, good," he gets up and puts some documents in his briefcase. "We need to get you certified or something and I need to raise your pay."

The blank look on my face transforms into a smile, stretching to meet my ears. Yay! Yay to bloodclaat!
Long time me waah hear that. Nobody nuh love money like me.

"So we can turn the sign on the door and start getting ready to lock up?" I ask, seeing that he's packing up.

"Yeah, yeah, do that."

"Great!" I leave his office with an enthusiastic smile on my face and walk back up the hallway.

Hearing a familiar voice, I stop in my tracks. Who that? I can hear him complaining about calling receptionist phone and not getting a response. Him miserable.

Suddenly, I start to remember what happened the last time I saw him. I'm such an embarrassing drunk! Why did I have to act like that and call him my boyfriend? Me will run weh enuh.

"I can let you talk to our supervisor," my eyes widen when I hear Lexi say that.

Lock off e light! Lock off e light!
