Richard: Dad , my ex wife Sarah just died. My third wife. The mother of Rebecca. She was in a car accident. Like Nigel. Only he survived thank God.
Andrew: Oh my God. I'm sorry. How is Rebecca doing with this? Is she ok ? Are you ok?
Richard: She's doing as well as any child who just lost their mother. She's coloring with Nigel. He's so good with her. I'm fine. I didn't love her anymore. God help me I'm not sure I even liked her. It was hard to tell Rebecca though. Dad , should we do the wedding on Wednesday still? I mean I want to. Nigel wants to. But is it tacky? So soon after Sarah?
Andrew: I don't think so. Funerals and death are a part of life. I'm sixty five. I know this more than most. My hourglass is getting lower every day lol. So are weddings. If you and Nigel want to get married on Wednesday do it. Who cares what anyone thinks? Son , live life freely. And a wedding will be good for my granddaughter. She is so adorable. Glory and I have a few gifts for her too. Just a few.
Richard: What is your definition of a few gifts?
Andrew: Oh just ten or twelve. They're small ones. Except for the kitchen set.
Richard: Lol Dad don't spoil her.
Andrew: Hey , I missed out on numerous birthdays and Christmases and Easters with my granddaughter and grandsons. And my children. Cut me some slack. We also have a wedding gift for you. We can't wrap it through.
Richard: You can't wrap it lol. What is it?
Andrew: Glory and I put down the security and first month rent on the house near your brother as we said. We can't wait to move in. We saw another house nearby us. It's beautiful, son. Five bedrooms. Three bathrooms. Large yard. Gardens. Very reasonable price considering. I put down a down payment on it. For you and Nigel.
Richard: Dad ! I can't let you all buy us a house.
Andrew: Yes you can. I've missed out on so much of your life as well as your brother and sister. I hate that. My business is doing well. And Glory doesn't like to talk about it but she has a bit of family money. We can afford it. And if you want to you can make the mortgage payments yourself. We'll send you pictures of it. I think it fits you both so well. I love you, son.
Richard: Jesus. Oh my God. Dad. I love you. Thank you.
