ODDS OF LOVE : SEASON SIX

Episode 9

Richard Norland and Nigel Hawthorne -Cyrus were out walking in a nearby park with Rebecca Norland skipping between them holding their hands. Richard was telling Nigel that his father and stepmother were actually buying them a house for a wedding present and Nigel was laughing with glee and shock.

" Can I pick my own room, Daddy? ," Rebecca asked. " And can we get ice cream? "

Richard laughed. " Yes , you can. And yes we can." Then he whispered to Nigel," She will want the biggest room you know. "

Nigel whispered back," Of course she will, baby. She is your daughter after all. "

Then Richard's phone rang and with the hand not holding his daughter's he reached into his pants pocket and pulled it out to answer it. His lips thinned. It was that Winston fellow again. " Yes ? ," he said firmly.

Winston said matter of fact," Rebecca is not your daughter. Sarah had an affair with me years ago because you were too busy working. We just reconnected a few months ago. Now she's dead. Rebecca is mine. My daughter. And I want her. "

Richard stopped walking abruptly. Nigel and Rebecca both looked at him in bemusement.

Richard snapped," You're lying. Prove it. "

Winston snapped back," I will. I want a DNA test. "

Faith Lane stood in a seedy Landover apartment in the living room, looking down at another body. The tall bony Black young man was in his mid twenties and not going to get any older because he had three bullets shot directly into the back of his head.

It was Booger Ward. One of the worst drug dealers in PG.

And next to his hand was a tiny golden replica of a bullet. Just like the one that her cousin Bullet laughed was his trademark. This was drug related, yes , but she knew in her heart and soul it was far more.

This was a damn outright hit. 

Damn her cousin. She had warned that fool to stay out of PG County.

In the Barrington Academy cafeteria Luci Moore sat at a back table with Theodore Rochester and new student Sol Klein.

Sol was complaining about both his MeeMaw packed lunch which resembled grass droppings and the school uniform he was wearing.

Then suddenly they heard loud raucous laughing and all looked up to see people pointing at Theodore. And Luci got a text message from Zora Mayfield with an attached video. She clicked on it and was horrified to see it was of a drunken Theodore at the pool party doing a strip tease and then falling into the pool. Sol and Theodore leaned over to see it.

Theodore gasped in shock and jumped up from his chair. He pushed back his glasses and blinked back tears. He could see everyone in the cafeteria pointing at him. He could hear them laughing. Everyone knew. Everyone knew. He backed up.

Sol said with confusion," What the hell? "

Luci looked at Theodore. " Ignore them , Theodore. It doesn't matter. "

Then she stood up and yelled at the other students. " Shut up ! Leave my cousin alone! "

Theodore sniffed and with tears falling down his pale face started to run off.
