"HAE-IN"
Hae-min greeted her sister with a hug. "Get off of me i'm fine" she pushed her sister away. Hae-in's diagnosis sitting in the back of her mind. How long she had until she'd never get her sisters endless affection?
No more bright smiled and warm hugs. Girl days even if Hae-in protested saying she was fine. After the miscarriage Hae-min was there. Swollen belly and all but she was there.
But for Hae-in it was hard to oversee the envy she held for her sister. Hae-min had everything. A loving husband, a beautiful daughter, a company and name of her own. Hae-min was without a doubt loved from the public and her family.
"I'm sorry for what happened. Maybe Hyun-woo was drunk, not thinking straight you know? Maybe talk to him".
"Hae-min?" Hae-in turned to her sister.Hae-min turned her head waiting for hae-in to speak. "You shouldn't be so trusting. It makes you look like an idiot" Hae-min blinked a few times her smile faded.
It would be better to push Hae-min away rather than having to see her sobbing face. Selfishly it would be better for Hae-in to not see her better half still happily living life. Still it came out a lot harsher than she had anticipated.
The younger twin heavily swallowed her saliva though her mouth felt dry. "I see.Im sorry" Hae-min gave her sister a sad smile and turned on her heel.
On her walk away from Hae-in she bumped into soo-cheol. "Are you not coming to the family meeting?" he asked her. "I um..i forgot to turn the stove off" Hae-min smiled and walked past her little brother.
She stepped outside and looked up at the sky. She let out big deep breaths before smiling. Was the smile genuine? no, but it helped. She looked straight ahead and toward her car.
She then seen Hyun-woo. He made eye contact with her before walking faster. She ran behind him calling his name. Her heels clicked loudly on the floor.
She grabbed his jacket. "Hyun-woo! what happened? i tried to defend you to the family but they are pretty mad" she said. "And why would you do that?" his tone a bit harsh. "What do you mean why? It has to be a misunderstanding right?" she asked.
"Hae-in is your sister. Stop trying to take up for me when Hae-in needs you" he said. "But i can't abandon you either? Doesn't seem like Hae-in needs me. She said i was too trusting and made me seem like an idiot,".
"But i know you Hyun-woo. It doesn't make me an idiot for trusting you, you're like my brother" she said.
"maybe she's right. I'm not your brother, i never was." he snapped. "What is wrong with you? i'm just trying to help" she frowned as her grip loosened on his shirt.
"Have it ever occurred to you i didn't want you help? I have a sister already," he said. "I'm your sister in law tho. Why can't we treat each other like blood?" she asked. "you don't want to help me. you're just empty inside. You're loud like an empty can" he yelled at her. Tears welded in her eyes.
She stared at him, a smile growing on her face. A lone tear slipping down her cheek as she turned on her heel. "Hae-min" he sighed reaching out to grab her hand. "Don't touch me!" she screamed.
She turned to face him "You and Hae-in are assholes. I tried everything to be a good sister to both of you. God i got you gifts for your birthday in her name to keep your marriage in tact. I held her during the miscarriage. I comforted you during it" she yelled at him.
"But in the end i'm an idiot and loud like an empty can" she shrugged. "i didn't mean it, i just..i'm so stressed and i said something stupid. You forgive me right?" he asked.
She let out a breath and stared at her shoes. She wanted to be mad. She wanted to be angry with Hyun-woo and Hae-in. But she just couldn't, so she opened her arms and enveloped him in a hug.
When Hyun-woo pulled away, her arms fell limp by her side as she walked numbly to her car and disappeared.
Suno waited for her to come back that afternoon but she didn't. Her phone sat on the counter by her untouched glass of water. The first person the man went to see was Hyun-woo.
"Do you know where Hae-min is? She hasn't came back and left her phone. "Not since earlier. Maybe she's mad at me and Hae-in" Hyun-woo said.
"Hong Hae-min isn't capable of feeling anything but happiness" Hae-in rolled her eyes stepping into the living room. Suno looked at the two in disgust.
"Why would she be mad at you two?" he asked. "We had an argument" was all hyun-woo said.
Hae-min sat on top of her cars hood, knees huddled to her chest letting the wind blow in her hair. She drove all the way to the beach, which is a hour and something drive.
Her breathing slowed as she rested her cheek upon her knees. A bottle beside her as the wind blew though her hair. A familiar car pulled up beside her.
"What ya doin gorgeous?" Suno said as he stepped from the car. "Thinking" she took a swig of the bottle. He got onto the car with her "are you drinking alcohol?" he asked. "American Apple cider. The alcohol i bought tasted rancid".
A soft laugh left his lips, he wrapped an arm around her waist and her head came to lean on his shoulder. "It will always be us Hae-min" he said. She didn't say anything and neither did he after that. Just held each other on the car hood watching the sun set.
Disclaimer: Hyun-Woo and Hae-in are gonna be low key assholes to her as will everyone else i promise it's leading up to something
