my wife

"ITS HONG HAE MIN LEAVE YOUR NAME AND NUMBER AT THE BEEP!"

"Hae-min ah~ come home" Suno whined as he cried. He laid on his side on the couch, pillow between his knees and surrounded by tissues. The phone hung up after recording his message.

The door code beeped making the man peek his head around. He shrunk back to his spot when it was just Ms.Kang. "Good afternoon Mr.Choi" she said.

"Eun-ha! where is my wife?" he asked. He nearly sounded like a whiny child. "Mrs.Hong sent me to pack some clothing for her" she said. "No!" he hiccuped. "These are also for you" she dropped a packet of papers on the desk.

Divorce settlement

"Tell her i'm not signing" he shoved the papers into the floor. "Mr.Choi-" she said but he cut her off. "Tell my wife if she wants me to sign she'll need to come here and make me" he stuck his tongue out.

Ms.Kang sighed and went into the bedroom. Suno jumped on his feet and followed her. "Why is she doing this? Please ask Hae-min if we go to counseling".

"Suno sign the papers. Mrs.Hong is having a tough time, i think it's best to give up" she sighed deeply. "no! I married her with the intention to be with her for the rest of my life" he said. "Suno you sound like a spoiled child" she replied. "I don't care.".

She was right he did sound like a bratty child. She frowned, she was hoping he wouldn't make it difficult. Hae-min just didn't know how to trust him after that. Had he been targeting her? Maybe it wasn't a coincidence they met.

He was extremely persistent on getting married as soon as possible could that be why? He spent four years connected to the same house as his mother and he never said anything. His mother took everything from her and her family.

Wouldn't she tell him? It was clear she told Eun-sung. She loved him with everything but she just couldn't be with someone she didn't know how to trust.

"I'll tell her to call you" she sighed and packed some clothing. He slowly nodded and walked back over to the couch. The door beeped again "Get up mom wants us" Eun-sung said. Ms.Kang stayed in the bedroom slightly ease dropping.

"No. Tell her to leave me alone, and for the record that's your mother." he mumbled against the pillow. "What the hell is wrong with you? Just get up" the man scoffed. "Go away" the man grumbled. Eun-sung pulled his brother up from the couch.

Suno sighed, maybe he could beg his mother to restore everything so Hae-min wouldn't leave him.

Suel-Hee called her boys to meet in her homes living room. She came in a few minutes after them smiling at both as she walked close.

"My sons together again" she said caressing both of their faces". Suno shoved his mother's hand away and looked away from her. His eyes held a blankness to them and there were dark circles under them.

His hair flat, lifeless and he looked sick. Suno couldn't take looking at his mom. Desperate to wipe the lingering touch off of his face, he stood up. He swayed on his feed as he dragged himself to the door. "And what is the matter with you?" She asked.

"I think....i miss my wife" his voice hoarse. "You miss Hong Hae-min?! The woman who flaunted the life you never had in your face?" His mother scoffed. "I miss Hong Hae-min. The woman who gave me what i didn't even know i needed".

He looked at his mother half way turned around. "I miss my wife. And my daughter, my sweet So-won. Imagine what she thinks of me now? Her father can't tuck her in and tell her how much i love her. My wife can't feel me holding her and tell her she's my first and only love".

"Remember why you even talked to her in the first place. You hated her do you remember that?" His mother was enraged. "I remember. But i also remember every birthday and milestone she was there for, even when i failed she was there" the words began to hiccup in his throat.

Pathetic sobs left his mouth as he began to walk out. "I miss my wife" he wailed. Eun-Sung watched as his brother's loud wails faded into nothingness.

He opened the door to his home. Once over flowing with his wife and daughter's energy now held the depth of his depleting marriage. He couldn't bare to touch most of anything.

The tv was left on So-won's favorite channel and Hae-min's notebook remained flipped to her page on the table. A container was left on the counter.

He picked up the pink sticky note on it.

'Eat' - hh.m

His eyes widened when he realized she had been at the apartment. Or at least looking out for him still. He pulled his phone from his pocket to see one video from Hae-min.

The video started off black before it panned to So-won. "Appa i miss you! Come home soon okay? Good night i love you" she smiled at the camera. "Umma say good night to appa" the four year old turned it to her mother.

"Good night suno" she waved at the camera before ending it. Her voice was flat and her eyes were glossy. he sent back a voice message.

"Good night So-won! Good night my love, i love you both". he sent the message and watched the read recipes pop up.
