It had been five years since everything had happened. Meredith and Derek had started officially dating after the custody battle.

Meredith had heard from Nathan for a couple of months after the court made their decision.

But he eventually got bored of her not playing his game.

She assumed he had found someone else to bother.

A few years ago he had mentioned that wanted to take their relationship to the next level.

She didn't know if that meant he wanted to move, or if he wanted to get married. She surely didn't think he wanted to get married after a year of dating.

Aurora had gotten used to having Derek around. He was good with her.

After the years Meredith had fallen pregnant with her second child, a boy.

Meredith was almost nine months pregnant and they still hadn't decided on a name.

Aurora had given many suggestions but none they had taken a liking to.

They had only told a few people about the new baby such as Mark and Addison, their closest friends.

Derek had only recently told his family since Meredith wanted to keep it quiet for a while.

She had only met his family a few times. Once when they were three years in their relationship and another a year later.

They had been invited to Christmas the first year they started dating but they didn't go.

Meredith didn't want to take Aurora to a place she'd never been before to or meet people she had never met before.

She wanted to wait a while before she decided to bring other people into their lives.

Derek understood the reasoning and didn't take any offence to it. After everything with Nathan, he understood why she was scared to let certain people into her family.

Meredith was scared, to say the least, terrified to say the truth when she found out she was pregnant again.

She was terrified when she found out she was pregnant with Aurora but she was still scared with her second pregnancy.

She didn't know what to expect from Derek. She knew he wanted a big family but she didn't know if he wanted it so soon.

She was surprised and relieved when he smiled after she handed him the ultrasound.

He was happy about the pregnancy and the idea of having a child of his own. He had always wanted children and he enjoyed taking care of Aurora.

He didn't care if the baby was a boy or a girl but he was happy when he found out they were having a boy.

"What about Christopher?" Derek asked with his arm around her waist.

"Your middle name?" She asked as she looked through a baby name book she had bought.

"It's a good name, it's a family name," he said.

"I know, I like the name but I'm not sure if I'm set on it. But we can use it as a middle name. If a first name is this hard I don't want to have to think about a middle name," she said.

"Jack," he suggested.

"Ha, no!" She laughed.

"Why not?" He asked. "Aurora and Jack? Auroras a beautiful and great name and the pair it with something as boring as Jack would be stupid," she said.

"I like Sebastian," she said. "Sebastian Shepherd. It's a little long don't you think?" He said.

"I like it. Sebastian Christopher Shepherd," she said.

"Now that's a long name," he said. "What about William?" He asked.

"Mm, I don't know," she shrugged.

"Lucas?" He asked. "I like Lucas," she said closing the book.

"You do?" He asked. "Yeah, I like it," she said.

"So that's one name we finally can agree on," he said.

"Yeah, but I think we should still keep our options open just in case," she said. "Okay, he said.
