The next morning, Chiron moved percy to cabin three.
And quoting his own words, ' he was absolutely miserable.'
" What ? Why? " Ron exclaimed. He had always wanted a place for his own since the burrow was always crowded. He didn't understand why percy wasn't happy about his own living space.
Alecs could understand that partly, since she was the only daughter of apollo, but not completely. However that didn't stop her from helping him. Nobody mentioned the hellhound, but alecs knew that they were all talking about it behind percy's back. That attack had scared everybody and It also sent two messages.
one, that percy was the son of the Sea God. And,
two, monsters would stop at nothing to kill him. Not that alecs cared, she was in the same boat too." oh" It was harry who understood what percy was feeling. It might not have been same. But it brought back the memories of his dear aunt, uncle and cousin, also the fifth year.
The other campers steered clear of him as much as possible. Cabin eleven was too nervous to have sword class with percy after what he'd done to the Ares folks in the woods, so alecs suggested that percy could join alecs's lessons with Luke. More over alecs too decided to give percy sword fighting lessons. Both alecs and luke pushed him harder than ever, and weren't afraid to bruise him up in the process.
Few people winced, including percy. He still remembered the intense training alecs and Luke subjected him to.
"You’re going to need all the training you can get," luke promised, as they were working with swords and flaming torches.
"Yep. But less talk more work, Now, percy let’s try that viper-beheading strike again. Fifty more repetitions." Alecs interrupted moving her torch to demonstrate.
Annabeth taught percy Greek in the mornings, but she seemed distracted. Every time percy said something, or alecs joked, she scowled at them.
After lessons, she would walk away muttering to herself:"Quest ! Poseidon? … Dirty rotten … Got to make a plan …" It went so far that even alecs had enough of her best friends behavior.
Annabeth looked down, ashamed at her past behavior that Even her best friend got tired of.
" I'm sorry, you two." She apologized again at the couple, who had been her best friends for a long time.
" Anni, It's ok. Don't worry about it." Alecs told the girl with a small reassuring smile. Behind her, percy too sent her a smile with enthusiastic nod. They both had forgiven her long time ago.
" But-" annabeth wasn't satisfied with that. She wasn't been reasonable. They should be angry at her or hate her. Not forgive her on the spot. Her train of thoughts was interrupted by the daughter of apollo before it went too far.
" Anni, listen to me, You were only twelve and you had trust issues. It's not ideal behavior, but you didn't knew better either. So stop blaming yourself. We forgive you long time ago."
" Yeah. Besides why wouldn't we, you are our best friend and like a sister to us." Percy added too. Earning a kiss to his cheek from his love and a bright smile from annabeth.
Others, as they watched the three, could see the strong bond between them.
"That's it. Enough is enough." Alecs said to percy one morning after a lesson and that was it. She took the responsibility of teaching him greek to himself. Percy didn't mind.
Even Clarisse kept her distance, though it was equally because of alecs's threat and percy's claiming. But her venomous looks made it clear she wanted to kill him for breaking her magic spear.
