The next afternoon, June 14, seven days before the solstice, their train rolled into Denver. They hadn’t eaten since the night before in the dining car, somewhere in Kansas. They hadn’t taken a shower since Half-Blood Hill, and if it wasn't for alecs low-key scourgify spells, she was sure that would have been obvious.

" You used magic ?" Molly's voice screeched. Causing tyson and grover to jump in fright. The demigods glared at her.

" Tone it down lady. And yes. I did magic. So what. We are witches and wizards. "  alecs retorted. Her voice half confused and half exasperated.

" But that's underage magic ! And infront of muggles no less." This time it was a third year gryffindor who defended molly. At the boy's words understanding drawn in alecs face, she let out a small chuckle before her eyes turned cold and face turned serious. Many felt cold shivers running down their spines at the girl's expression.

" one, I told you once and I'll tell you one last time. They. Are. Not. Muggles. Annabeth and percy are demigods and grover is a satyr. and,-" her serious face vanished. Much to others relief.

"-Two, that underage magic rule didn't apply to me, Because I have ichor in blood. Same as the lady magic, hecate. Since magic originated from gods and the specific witchcraft came from hecate, no one can track my spells. My magical signature is  partly similar to hecate's so more like a primal magic, it can easily misunderstood as some nature magic or lady magic's blessing." Alecs explained.

The hall listen to her in awe, fascinated by the unique magic signature the demiwitch possessed.

While others were fascinated, dumbledore was turning purple with envy. He too wanted to possess magic like this. So he could use many dark spells he hadn't been able to cast because it leaves his magical signature for anyone to track.

" Let’s try to contact Chiron,"  Annabeth said.

" I want to tell him about your talk with the river spirit."

" Ugh, I'm not looking forward to this. " Alecs said with a low groan. Despite  whatever history had told about chiron, he was a worrywart. A mother hen. As soon as he heard that they had encountered furies, medusa and then about percy's high-dive act as per alecs advice, they were going get a long and boring lecture and alecs was going to suffer an additional one for her recklessness. Being fully aware of this, No, sir. Nuh-huh, she wasn't looking forward to this.

As soon as they heard the first sentence, apollo, percy and hermes burst in to laughter.

" Oh Imagine chiron's face if he heard this !" Percy doubled up with laughter causing alecs, annabeth and few other gods to chuckle too. Regulus gave laughing apollo and alecs an amused look with an eyebrow raised.

" It's true though." Apollo replied to his unanswered question while alecs shrugged. She was telling the truth.

" We can’t use phones, right?" Percy asked and alecs shook her head.

" Nope. -" She was going to explain farther but annabeth cut off her with,

" I’m not talking about phones."

She gave percy a shrug as they wandered through downtown for about half an hour, though neither percy had a clue nor alecs cared for what Annabeth was looking for. They just followed annabeth and grover. The air was dry and hot, which felt weird after the humidity of St. Louis. Everywhere alecs turned, the Rocky Mountains seemed to be staring at her, like a tidal wave about to crash into the city.
