Percy grabbed the shield and they ran, but going up the slope of the pool was not as easy as going down.

" Come on!" Grover shouted. He and annabeth were trying to hold open a section of the net for alecs and percy, but wherever they touched it, the golden threads started to wrap around their hands.

" please don't let go, please don't!" Alecs and percy head from besides them and looked at draco who was unconsciously muttering the words eyes glued to the screen. Alecs eyes softened for a second before she shared an amused look with percy.

The Cupids’ heads popped open. Out came video cameras. Spotlights rose up all around the pool, blinding alecs with illumination, and a loudspeaker voice boomed.

" Live to Olympus in one minute … Fifty-nine seconds, fifty-eight …"

" Hephaestus!"  Annabeth screamed understanding what alecs had guessed few minutes ago.

" I’m so stupid.’ Eta is H.’ He made this trap to catch his wife with Ares. Now you’re going to be broadcast live to Olympus and look like absolute fools!" Alecs shook her head. It wasn't annabeth's fault.

" Not you, Anni. I am the one who is an idiot. I should have known. And hey! I don't look like a fool ." Alecs blamed  herself. Knowing hephaestus, she should have guessed that this place might be a trap but she said the last part in a insulted voice. Trap or not, she wasn't going to let her best friend tell her she looks like a fool.

" Oh, My. God. You two are really soulmates, both of you didn't know how to get the point !" Remus commented while most of the hall gave alecs  disbelieving looks. Hearing that annabeth replied before alecs or percy could, giving remus a tired look.

" You haven't seen anything yet, Mr.Lupin." remus was shocked that a unknown demigod knew his name, but since the girl didn't say anything else and had already turned away, he held his tongue, hoping that the movies would shed some light to his unanswered questions.

Meanwhile alecs gave annabeth an apologetic look at her comment but both annabeth and alecs knew she wasn't really apologising.

They’d almost made it to the rim and alecs was few inches away from grabbing annabeth's out stretched hand when the row of mirrors opened like hatches and thousands of tiny metallic … things poured out.

" Now what ? " someone asked in the crowd but no one had the answer.

It was an army of wind-up creepy-crawlies: bronze-gear bodies, spindly legs, little pincer mouths, all scuttling toward the four in a wave of clacking, whirring metal. Alecs tried to took a close look at them. But before she could,
annabeth screamed. Hearing that, alecs felt her heart drop to her stomach. She recognized that scream. That was the same scream she would hear every time annabeth encountered -

" Spiders!" Annabeth stammered.

" Sp-sp-aaaah!"

At her scream the people who are afraid of spiders let out their own screams, the loudest one being a certain redhead gryffindor.

Annabeth turned her head away from the screen, partially because of spiders and partially because of the embarrassment. Grover patted her back sympathetically but his eyes showed a hind of smile.

" Oh for gods sake! " Alecs watched in concern as she fell backward in terror. She didn't even realised that without annabeth she couldn't get out.

Worried about annabeth, alecs almost got overwhelmed by the spider robots before percy pulled her away and slid down, dragging her back towards the boat.
