Cameron's POV
Beep Beep Beep
I slam my hand down on the most annoying thing in the world. The thing that wakes me up from the most peaceful sleeping I've ever had. It wakes me up for another day of hell.
I got up and chose my outfit for the day. I hate choosing it the night before because I always change my mind on what I want to wear. Sometimes I feel like dressing up that night, but then I wake up and throw on some sweats. Today, I chose some jeans, since it's Fall, and a nice short sleeved shirt. Even though I live in California, it gets cold.
"Honey! Come down for breakfast," my dad called from downstairs. He makes the best breakfast, and that's the only reason I wake up happy every morning.
"Wesley just got here, too," he hollered. Wesley's been my best friend since freshman year. It's the Fall of our senior year now, and we're still best friends. He comes over just about every morning for breakfast with my dad and I.
I hurried down the stairs with my book bag and greeted Wesley with a hug. We sat down at the kitchen table as my dad put our plates down in front of us. He planted a kiss on the top of my head before going back to the food.
"So, Wesley, how's the music coming along?" my dad asked him. Wesley, his brother, and friends have a band. They work on music a lot and are really talented.
"It's actually going really well. We've been working on a few songs to finish up a project we're doing," he answered excitedly. I've never seen him care about something as much as he cares about music. It's his whole world.
"That's great! I can't wait to hear what you've got some day." We finished up our food and got ready to head out.
"Thanks, Dad! The food was great, like always. I'll see you when I come home," I told my dad after we finished eating.
"Yours or mine today?" I asked Wesley.
"Mine," he said. We hopped in his car and drove to school. We had first and second period together, but then we didn't see each other until lunch. We had Kellerman first period, and he's the worst. He hates everyone.
"Kellerman is going to hate me even more today," Wesley laughed.
"Why? Didn't do your homework again? You should've copied mine this morning."
"I hate doing that though. I learn nothing either way, so I guess it doesn't even matter," he chuckled. We entered Kellerman's class and took our seats. He took attendance and then introduced a new project we'd be working on. We get partners, but of course, he chose them. He usually pairs me with Wesley, so I'm not worried. I waited until he called my name.
"Cameron and Nathan."
"Wait, there must be a mistake. I always get paired with Cameron," Wesley argued. Nathan rolled his eyes. Nathan has never particularly liked Wesley. He gets along with him for sports, but they've had their differences with girls over the years.
"Not this time, Mr. Stromberg. Looks like you'll have to continue your relationship outside of projects for my class now," he annoyingly said as everyone laughed. My face turned a shade of red. I could tell.
"How many times has he screwed you, Cam?" Natalie asked snobbishly from a row behind me. Natalie has been trying to get with Wesley since we became friends. He refuses to have any association with her due to her disgusting reputation. Granted, Wesley's isn't the best either, but Natalie's is disturbing.
"More times than you'll ever be screwed," I scoffed, sneakily smirking at my best friend. It was a complete lie that would most likely be around the entire school in a day. Wesley chuckled from beside me and shot me a wink.
Lunch came pretty quick, and then it dawned to the end of the day, which is also the highlight of my day. I met Wesley by his car after eighth period, so he could drive me home.
"So what was Kellerman's class about? You afraid you'll actually have to do work on this project?" I teased him when he finally moseyed out of the school doors and reached his car.
"No, I'm just comfortable working with you. Now I've gotta work with Natalie the bitch while you work with your dream hunk. Have fun," he joked. I've always had a tiny crush on Nathan, but I don't think I'd ever date him. He's a known to be a jerk to girls.
"Oh stop, you know you would never let me date him," I laughed. Wesley's always been really protective over who I date. It gets old sometimes, but it's nice that he cares about me that much.
"You coming over?" Wesley questioned when we were getting close to my house. We hung out most days after school.
"No, Nathan wanted to work on the project now, so I'll see you later," I said. He dropped me off at home and I went to work on my project with Nathan. This should be good.
A/N: I have had this story (along with others) in my drafts for a very long time, so I decided to just put them out here. They aren't as long as my others, but I have actually edited this one, so it may be a little better. I know Emblem3 is very irrelevant, but I didn't want it to just sit in my drafts because I was actually kind of proud of how this one turned out.
