Happiness will not fade in your life,
If you do not let it go that way, fight for what you know.
As I sit here, watching the grass grow,
And witnessing the ever-changing seasons flow,
Thoughts of you consume my mind,
Every little memory, I hold on and find.

But truth be told, the grass isn't greener,
And the stars above aren't written, it's clearer.
I realize now, it was all a lie,
Yet I still find myself asking why.
Why do I care so much, when I shouldn't,
Spending nights wondering, as I couldn't,
Help but wonder how you are,
What you're doing, from afar.

Do I still cross your mind,
Are you being treated kind?
Is he better than I ever could be,
Do you miss me, can you see?
I know these questions will never be answered,
But I hope you're happy, your heart's finally mastered.

I want to hate you, for the pain you caused,
But there's nothing to hate, no flaws.
Even amidst the pain I received from you,
I'm grateful, for the lessons I drew.
I've learned a major lesson, it's true,
Happiness is within, not in someone else's view.

So I'll fight for my own happiness, you see,
Not letting it fade, but setting it free.
For if I hold on and let it grow,
Happiness will flourish, and continue to glow.
No longer tied to memories of the past,
I'll embrace a future that will forever last.
