She broke up with me today,
A storm cloud in my sunny sky.
"I broke up with him today,"
Her voice a whisper, a final goodbye.
She said she wasn't happy,
And my heart began to ache.
"I told him I wasn't happy,"
Her words like waves that break.
I was too hurt to ask why,
My silence, a chasm deep.
"He didn't even ask me why,"
Her tears, the secrets they keep.
I wanted to stop her from leaving,
My heart ached for her to stay.
"I thought he would ask me to stay but he didn't,"
Her hope was lost, drifting away.
But if she's not happy with me,
There's no way I can make her stay.
"He just let me go,"
Her steps fading, leading away.
So I just let her go and just like that,
The dream I cherished was gone.
"And just like that,"
I lost the girl I was dreaming for so long.
"I lost the guy I waited for so long."
