"Eda!"
Eda bit back her smile. Standing on the first stair leading into the dorm, she turned around. Like he had been doing each time she had classes and he didn't see her in the office, Min was waiting by his car.
A few students who were headed into the dorm glanced their way and Eda couldn't bring herself to care about them. Unable to hold it in any longer, she let herself smile. She descended the stair and walked over to where he was. "Hey, Min."
His smile left her breathless. "Hi!"
She noticed his now permed hair. A love arrow hit her heart accurately. "You got your hair done."
Min's smile turned nervous. He reached up to touch the curls. "I wanted to try it out. Does it look okay?"
She nodded immediately. Her smile was wide and sincere. "It looks perfect! I told you you're more handsome than anyone else. Only you can pull this look effortlessly."
His cheeks burned. His heart soared. "You're just pulling my leg."
"I'm serious!"
He turned the attention away from himself. "You look beautiful. This is a new outfit. Can I get a better look at it?"
Eda was more than happy to twirl for him. As the weather was warmer, she could finally wear the beige romper she had recently purchased. She paired it with a black coat and black boots, her hair in two neat and big cornrows.
Min brought a hand to his chest and feigned hurt. "Your beauty blinds me, Eda."
She threw her head back and laughed. "Oh, stop it."
He laughed as well. When they sobered, he opened up his arms. "Do I get a hug today?"
She hesitated for the mere fun of it before she stepped into his embrace. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly against him, burying his face in the crook of her neck.
Since the day they visited the Namsan Tower, he had gotten used to hugging her. It was a safe place for him and he loved how well she fit in his arms. He loved how she always scented of vanilla, a flavour she loved so much that she bought anything with it. He loved how she could hear and feel his heartbeat and he always prayed that she knew that was how much she affected him.
For Eda, Min's embrace was the closest thing to home. On such days when he buried his face in her neck, she felt extremely content and loved. On the days when he rested his chin on her head, she felt babied in the best way possible. Then there was his heartbeat which always matched hers, telling her that she affected him the same way he affected her.
The first time he had hugged her on the roof of Bloom's department store, she had not paid much attention to it because of how badly she needed the comfort while crying. The hug they had shared after the Namsan Tower visit was much better and it was all she could think about until she saw him again. Since then, she looked forward to each hug and each moment.
He was busier with the company and she understood. He was the president after all. The daily gifts never stopped coming and if she complained about the slightest thing, he got it fixed.
Sometimes, she compared it to being with Daniel and the difference was very obvious. Daniel wasn't attentive and most times, he was self-centred. He expected her to bend to his will even though she had things lined up. That was why she developed the habit of telling her of her plans ahead of time just so he never came up with the excuse of not knowing what she had to do.
"You're spacing out again, Eda."
She smiled against Min's chest. "I am." She pulled back to look up at him. "Sorry."
