SEV AND BUCKY WERE NOW IN A ROOM, just the two of them. The others were in another room, trying to figure out how to get the Infinity Stone out of Vision's head without killing him.
Bucky was holding her, just holding her. They had been like that for a while now, standing up, hugging silently. His flesh hand cradled her head, the only sound being the steady beat of his heart against her ear. Occasionally, Bucky would kiss the top of her head, a gentle reassurance of his presence.
"So you fight now?" Bucky broke the silence, his voice a low murmur.
Sev scoffed, still nestled in his embrace. "Barely. Steve doesn't let me unless he's sure I won't get too badly hurt."
Bucky chuckled softly. "Sounds like him. I like the suit," he said, still not pulling away from their embrace.
Sev smiled against his chest. "Oh, yeah, it's Nat's old one. She's training me to fight, y'know? Less cruel than the old ways I was trained."
It took a minute for Bucky to respond, his mind momentarily lost in darker memories. "I don't want you to fight this fight, Sev."
Sev pushed away slightly, looking up at him with determination in her eyes. Bucky couldn't read her emotions entirely, but he saw the resolve there. "You can't stop me," she said firmly.
Bucky sighed, his heart heavy with worry. "You're fifteen."
"I know, but you can't stop me," she repeated, her voice unwavering.
He pulled her back into the embrace, holding her even tighter, his chin resting on her head. "Okay," he said softly, acknowledging the truth. He knew he really couldn't stop her even if he tried.
More silence enveloped them before Sev spoke again. "I'm sorry for being selfish," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Bucky's brow furrowed as he pulled back to look at her. "You're not selfish, Sev. Why would you think that?"
Sev bit her lip, her eyes filled with guilt. "Because I was so angry at you. I thought I'd hate you for leaving me. I felt abandoned, even though I knew you were doing it for a good reason."
Bucky's heart ached at her words. He gently cupped her face in his hands, his eyes filled with love and regret. "Sev, you have every right to feel the way you do. I never wanted to leave you, but I had to make sure I wasn't a danger to you or anyone else. I was trying to protect you."
"I know," Sev said, tears welling up in her eyes. "But it hurt so much. I felt like I was losing you."
Bucky wiped her tears with his thumb, his voice filled with emotion. "You never lost me, Sev. I've thought about you every single day. You're my world, and I would do anything to keep you safe."
Sev sniffled, trying to hold back her tears. "I'm sorry for doubting you."
"There's nothing to be sorry for," Bucky said softly. "You've been so strong, Sev. Stronger than I could have ever hoped for. And I'm so proud of you."
Sev's lip quivered as she looked up at him. "I missed you so much, Papa."
"I missed you too, baby," Bucky whispered, pulling her close again. "But we're here now, and we're going never gonna have to be apart again."
They stood there in silence, holding each other tightly, finding solace in their reunion. After a few moments, Sev pulled back slightly, looking up at her father with a determined expression.
"Promise me you won't leave me again," she said, her voice filled with a mixture of hope and fear.
Bucky nodded, his eyes resolute. "I promise, Sev. No matter what happens, I'm with you."
Sev smiled, a small but genuine smile, and hugged him tightly. "Tell me it's okay, papa."
He pulled her back in, this time swaying her slightly. "It's okay, Sev. It's okay, baby." Bucky replied, kissing the top of her head.
As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the world outside their small room seemed to fade away. "Love you Sev, I love you more than words can say."
"What does that mean?"
"It's means you're everything to me." He said. "It's means I love you more than I love everything."
Sev chuckled. "Whoa, that's a bunch."
Bucky kissed the top of her head again. "Yeah, I love you a bunch, I guess."
SEV STOOD NEXT TO HER PAPA, both of them panting heavily after the grueling battle. The fight against Thanos had been brutal, a test of every ounce of strength and resolve they possessed. The landscape around them was a desolate battlefield, littered with debris and fallen comrades. Seven's body ached from the blows she had taken, each scar a testament to the ferocity of their enemy.
Bucky turned to her, his expression filled with concern and exhaustion. His gloved hands cupped her face, his touch gentle despite the roughness of his fingers. He examined her scars, his heart aching at the sight of her injuries.
"Sev, are you okay?" he asked, his voice rough with worry as his fingers gently traced the new lines etched into her skin.
Seven's eyes were glossy with unshed tears. "Papa..." she began, her voice trembling. "Vision's dead, and Thanos is gone."
Bucky bowed his head, the weight of their losses heavy on his shoulders. "Yeah..." he whispered.
"Did we lose?" she asked, her voice small and uncertain, like a child's seeking reassurance.
He sighed deeply, struggling to find the right words. "I don't know..."
Suddenly, Seven felt a strange sensation in her stomach. It wasn't pain exactly, but a disorienting, almost numbing feeling. She glanced down at her hands and then back up at Bucky, confusion etched across her face. "Papa, I feel weird..."
Bucky's eyes widened as he saw her hand starting to disintegrate into dust before his very eyes. Panic surged through him, and he gripped her shoulders tightly. "Sev..."
The tears began to flow freely down her cheeks. She felt the fear rising within her, a primal terror that gripped her heart. Crybaby Sev..."Papa! I don't wanna die...what's happening? I don't wanna die!" she cried, her voice breaking.
Bucky pulled her into a tight embrace, his own fear and helplessness threatening to overwhelm him. "Sev, no... no, no, no..." He stammered, his voice choked with emotion as he held onto her as if sheer willpower could keep her with him. He couldn't find the words to tell her she'd be okay.
Her body started to crumble in his arms, turning to ash that slipped through his fingers. Seven clung to him desperately, her sobs muffled against his chest. "Papa... please..."
Bucky's own tears mixed with the dust as he watched his daughter disintegrate, feeling utterly powerless. "Sev!" he shouted, his voice raw with grief and despair.
In mere moments, she was gone, vanished into nothingness, leaving Bucky kneeling alone in the debris.
He barely had time to process the loss, the profound emptiness left by her absence, before he felt the same strange sensation creeping over his body. His hand began to dissolve, and he looked up in search of his friend, his voice a broken whisper. "Steve..."
Bucky's vision blurred as his body continued to disintegrate. The last thing he saw was Steve's anguished face, reaching out too late to save him. And then, he too, was gone, turned to dust and scattered by the wind, leaving behind only echoes of their existence on the desolate battlefield.
