NINE MONTHS LATER

Matt pulled up to Tyler's house. He looked over at Casey and smiled.
"God you're beautiful."
She blushed. "I hope you never get tired of saying that."
"That wouldn't be possible."
Casey kissed him. "C'mon, grab the bags."

Matt popped the trunk and grabbed a ridiculous amount of gift bags.
"I think you over did it." Matt told her.
"No such thing. I'm gonna spoil them for years to come." Casey replied.
A car pulled up behind them and Shannon, Phil and Lexi hopped out. Phil was carrying a thirty pack of beer.
"Priorities." Matt said. "I like it."
"I got Lexi for the heavy lifting." Phil replied.

Lexi was carrying eight gift wrapped boxes, making it impossible to even see where she was going. She rolled her eyes as she tried to balance them.
Shannon gave Casey a hug. "See what I put up with?"
"What?" Phil asked, oblivious.

"How's it going with her?" Casey asked Shannon, referring to Lexi, who had gone inside.
"It's going. Getting better I think. We're taking it day by day. She has the typical teenager attitude, but she's adjusting.......slowly."
"You got a soft spot for her." Matt teased Shannon.
She shrugged. "I guess I do."
The four walked in together. Inside were Ben and Mary as well as Sam's mom and sister.

What brought them all together tonight was Sierra and Sam's baby shower. Both had gotten pregnant at practically the same time. Tyler and Gavin were going to be fathers.

The two girls, both looking like they could give birth any day now, got up and greeted everyone.
Sierra was expecting a girl and Sam a boy. Their group would be growing. The next generation Chosen Ones. The hope was that they never had to fight, but history had shown that they would always need to be prepared. There was no telling if Sierra and Sam's children would have the same powers the rest of the group now possessed. Again- only time would tell.

Jonah, Walker, and Gabriel. They had all come for Tyler. Not to mention shifters and an array of genetically engineered creatures and monsters. The Chosen Ones had fought them all off, but had also lost close friends and family in the process. All they could do was hope for a peaceful future.

Was that so much to ask?
