"Tyler don't go out there." Shannon warned.
She had been encouraging him to do something about the men they were fighting, but she was unsure of Gabriel's strength or if Tyler was even ready to face him.

He didn't listen anyway. Tyler got out and moved to the front of the truck. He was now twenty feet away from Gabriel. His adrenaline was pumping. He thought of Jenna and what this man, no this kid, had done to Sam and Gavin.
"Well, you got some balls." Gabriel said to Tyler. He laughed at him, mocking him. He could tell Tyler was scared.

"You've never been in a serious fight in your life have you?" He asked.
"I can still take you." Tyler fired back.
"Confidence. I like that."
Gabriel's men stood behind him, their guns fixated on Shannon and Sierra. If they moved they were dead.
Tyler glanced back at Shannon who slowly shook her head, warning him not to do anything.

Tyler smirked at her, then he threw his hands out toward Gabriel, shooting a clear glowing beam of light in his direction. He tried to catch him off guard but Gabriel was too fast. He countered with a beam of his own that met Tyler's in the middle. The two foes pushed hard toward the other. Their power equally matched. Finally the glowing beams exploded, sending both of them flying back and landing on the ground.

Before Shannon could comprehend what had happened she caught something out of the corner of her eye come running out of the woods.
It was Casey.
She moved with incredible speed and was on Gabriel's men in seconds. She disarmed one of the men and killed him with his own rifle, then grabbed him and used him as a shield before shooting and killing two more.

She didn't stop there. Casey pulled two long curved blades from her belt and sliced through two more men, sending streaks of blood through the air.
She was not alone. Matt, Gavin, Phil and Sam came barreling up in Matt's truck. Gavin hopped out, took a knee and fired a grenade launcher in the direction of an oncoming enemy truck. He connected with the front tire and sent it airborne. It flipped and skidded on its roof before it came to a stop in front of them. Matt and Sam walked up, ripped the doors open and shot the men inside.

Phil and Sierra went to work exchanging gunfire with the rest of Gabriel's men. As they shot, Casey and Shannon used their blades in close quarters with the enemy, killing a dozen of them.
"Where's Tyler?!" Matt yelled.
Shannon pointed. He followed her direction and saw Tyler running into the woods after Gabriel.
"Fuck!" Matt swore as he ran after them.
Casey saw him break and followed. Sierra started to chase but Shannon grabbed her arm.

"No! We clear the scene. There can't be any evidence we were ever here." She instructed.
Sierra protested but ultimately obliged. She felt okay knowing Matt and Casey had pursued Tyler.
"Gavin, take Sam and Sierra. Check the bodies, leave no survivors. Then get your asses back to the cabin." Shannon ordered.

Gavin gave her a disapproving look but he knew the drill. Sam and Sierra fired a couple shots into the bodies, ensuring their death. Gavin got into the drivers seat and started Tyler's truck. Phil hopped in Matt's, which was still running.

Gavin turned to the backseat.
"What the fuck is that?" He asked, looking at the ugly dog panting heavily, a puddle of drool on the seat in front of him.
"Gavin, just go." Shannon said.
"Yeah but what is it?" He persisted.
"It's a dog..... I think..... I don't know.... Jesus Christ Gavin, just drive!" Shannon yelled.
Sam got in and he took off. Sierra hopped in with Phil as Shannon took off into the woods.

Tyler gave chase. He had sweat running down his forehead. He could see Gabriel in front of him but he was extremely fast. These woods here were not familiar to Tyler. He ducked and weaved from the branches in front of him. It was then he realized he had lost sight of Gabriel.

Still he ran full speed to catch up. That's when he was clothes lined by Gabriel's arm. He had been hiding behind a tree waiting. He had showed he was much faster than Tyler, who did a full flip from the impact and landed hard on his back. Gabriel attacked immediately, pummeling Tyler's face with lefts and rights.

He was finally able to dodge one, and that would be all he would need to kick Gabriel off him. Now Tyler went on the offensive. He grabbed his nemesis by the throat and slammed him up against a tree. Taking out a knife, he stuck it into Gabriel's chest, who laughed as he looked down at it. Then he pushed his knee out into Tyler's mid section, sending him reeling back.

Now the two young men stood ten feet apart. Gabriel took the knife out of his chest and threw it at Tyler, who dodged it and watched it stick into the tree behind him. Gabriel's wound closed in seconds. Tyler threw his left hand forward sending a glowing orb in his enemy's direction. Gabriel did the same, and again their force fields met in the middle. Neither of them could get the advantage with this move, which was supposed to be Tyler's most powerful.

The clear rays of light disappeared as the two men were again thrown off balance by the sheer power of them. Gabriel put his hands in Tyler's direction and made a twisting motion. He felt his neck muscles start to twist as he frantically tried to stop it. This was it. He was going to die right here.

Shots rang out. Matt charged out of the trees firing his gun and striking Gabriel in the back several times. Tyler took the opportunity to shoot his beam of light at a distracted Gabriel and struck him in the back, sending him off the cliff.
Casey and Shannon emerged. Tyler ran to the cliff and looked down. It was a good three hundred foot drop, but there was no body.

"Damn it!" Tyler swore.
"Are you okay?" Casey asked. "Let me look at you."
"I'm fine." Tyler replied, annoyance in his voice. He had let Gabriel get away.
"Are you hurt?" Matt asked.
"I said I'm fine!" Tyler yelled. He walked toward the path of the way they came in.

The others followed. They were back in it now. Gabriel was just like Tyler, which made him nearly impossible to kill. Plus, he had an army of men.
They returned to the house where Sierra greeted Tyler with a relieved hug. He had cooled down a little during the walk back.

"What happened?" Gavin asked. "Did you fight him?"
Tyler nodded. "Yeah, I let the son of a bitch get away."
"It was your first fight, Tyler. You did good." Matt told him.
"Not good enough." He replied.

They all stood around the living room.
"We're so back." Phil said, smiling. He held up his hand to Matt, who took it and smiled. It felt good. They were all in their element.
"Gavin, did you shoot a fucking grenade launcher?" Shannon asked.
He nodded. "Hell yeah."
Sam hopped on his back and kissed his cheek. "That was awesome." She said. "God, it felt good to be out there."

"Guys, I feel the same way, believe me, but this isn't like the other times. We don't even know if Gabriel can be killed. AND, he's got an army of men." Matt said. "We got lucky today."
"Lucky my ass." Shannon said. "We killed those motherfuckers." She looked at her sister. "You were great out there, sis."

Sierra got her first kill. She put her head down, feeling a little ashamed. "It felt good." She admitted.
Shannon hugged her. "Any time you kill a bad guy it does. Don't ever feel bad about it."
"So does he know where your house is?" Phil asked Matt.
"I don't think so." He replied.
"So what now?" Sam asked.
"I guess we wait." Matt answered.

Casey noticed Tyler had gone out on the back deck. She followed him out there. He was just staring out into the lake. She put her hands on his shoulders. Her eyes glowing blue with pride for her son.
"I'm sorry I snapped at you and dad." He said, turning to look at her.
Casey smiled. "It's okay to be frustrated." She told him.

"But now that you were up against him, can you beat him?" She asked.
He paused for a moment. "I'm gonna kill him."
Casey smiled. "I'd expect nothing less."
