The Ruling - Bellamy Blake

2. Apogee

Clarke and Wells are preaching to us about how we need to get to Mount Weather. They're right, we need to eat. Yet, no one's going to listen to them, we've just gotten our first taste of freedom in god knows how long, the last thing they want is to follow orders.

"If we want to get there before dark we need to leave now." Clarke says desperately.
"I have a better idea. You two go, find it for us. Let the privileged do the hard work for a change." Bellamy suggests while standing tall. Many chime in agreeing, only making him smirk.
"Let's not forget princess Nova." John Murphy says pointing at me. My face turns to him before I can process what he's saying. He has a cruel smirk plastered onto his face. "We can't forget her parents-."
"Don't talk about my parents." I spit back instantly. I don't need to be reminded.

"You're not listening, we all need to go." Wells says quickly. I internally thank him for speaking, since Murphy has turned his attention away from me and onto Wells.
"Listen everybody. The chancellor of Earth." Murphy says loudly to the crowd of criminals watching him as he pushes Wells.
"You think that's funny?" Wells asks bitterly. Murphy kicks his foot underneath him causing Wells to fall. I wince as I watch his ankle twist. Clarke tries to jump in but gets pulled back.
"No, but that was." Murphy laughs proudly before Wells gets ready to fight back. I've got to give it to him, he doesn't seem to tire.

Finn jumps down in between them. I look up to where he came from confused. How did he get up there?
"Kids got one leg. Why don't you wait till it's a fair fight?" He says to Murphy. Murphy steps back and Octavia steps up to Finn.
"Hey Spacewalker, rescue me next." She smirks. I chuckle softly as she turns to Bellamy. With everything going on, I don't know how romance could even be a topic on someone's mind.

Clarke takes Wells away to fix his leg and I just step away unsure where to go. I take a few moments to look at the group around me. All of us, except for Bellamy, are children. Yet, that's not all that makes us similar. We've all been arrested and spent our imprisonment awaiting death, but right now we have a chance at a new life. I'm going to make this count, not only for me but for my family who was ripped away from me and floated away. Im going to help make sure the other criminals get the chance to a new life as well. I turn to walk over to Clarke and Wells to help get the food.

I can see that Finns there as well, talking to Clarke.

"How are you two gonna carry enough food for everyone?" Wells asks the two of them. Finn turns around grabbing Jasper and Monty.
"Four of us. Can we go now?" He asks as he spins the two boys around.
"Five." I say stepping into their line of sight. Clarke gives me a slight nod.
"Sounds like a party. Make it six." Octavia says walking over. Bellamy grabs her arm turning her to face him.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asks in a low voice.
"Going for a walk." She says earning a small chuckle from me.

Clarke begins scolding Finn for trying to take his wristband off, her reasoning being without them they'd think we're dead. I get why she doesn't want them to think that. Some of us still have families, and not to mention our farmers and doctors. To actually be able to survive down here we need their help.

They all turn to leave and I wait for Octavia who's saying bye to Bellamy. I feel my lips curl up slightly watching how much they truly care for one another.

Octavia and I walk side by side.
"He's so cute." She says looking at up Finn, sheepishly. I laugh softly thinking back to my original thought on romance.
"You have a whole walk to start something." I smile to her encouragingly. She smiles back and walks over to him.

I don't pay them much attention but notice him put a flower in her hair.
"That is game." I hear Jasper state to Monty. I feel my lips curl back up.
"That is poison sumac." Monty answers causing me to giggle.
