Jaspers only getting worse, and all people do is complain about it.

"I need a drink." I say walking downstairs. Jaspers cries are making me sick. I just want to make him better.
"No!" I hear a young voice scream. I feel my heart start beating out of my chest as I run towards it. There's a little girl sleeping under a tree, she's screaming and twitching. I recognize the signs of a nightmare and grab her arm gently causing her to jump up.
"Hey, it's okay. It was just a nightmare." I whisper  sitting next to her. "What's your name?"
"Charlotte." She says softly looking at her fidgeting hands.
"I'm Nova. It's okay to be scared. I get nightmares too."
"You do?" I nod.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" I ask. A little girl shouldn't be here.
"It's my parents." She cries. "They were floated and I see it in my dreams and I just..." She trails off.
"I understand. My parents were floated too." I whisper grabbing her hands tightly.

"Do you see them in your dreams?" She asks. I feel my breath sharpen.
"Everyday. But I think that we should be able to move on from all the pain the Ark caused. Being down on the ground is a second chance." I say.
"Do you really believe that?" I nod while I wrap my arm around her shoulders. At least I'm trying to.

In the morning Jasper isn't doing any better. His wound is infected. Clarke and I are constantly cleaning it in an attempt to save his life, but it's not working we have to do more.
"He could be septic." I say to Clarke while I stare at the infected skin.
"Any luck on trying to contact the Ark?"
"That would be a firm no." Monty answers.
"My mother would know what to do." Clarke says clearly stressing out.
"How's he doing?" Wells asks walking up.
"How does it look like he's doing, Wells?" She spits out towards him. I have no idea what happened between them but it's not helping anyone.
"Hey, I'm just trying to help."

I look back at the wound.
"We need to remove the infected skin." I say to Clarke. She nods.
"Help me hold him down." I say to Wells. Him and Finn do.

Clarke puts her knife into the fire. She moves the knife to his skin causing him to start screaming.
"Hold him still." I say to the guys as I feel goosebumps rise across my skin.
"Stop it! You're killing him." Octavia yells running in clearly having heard his screams.
"She's trying to save him." I say calmly taking a deep breath as the screams stop.
"She can't." Bellamy says walking in.
"Back off." Wells says standing up.
"We didn't drag him through miles of woods just to let him die."
"Kids a goner. If you can't see that, you're deluded." He says looking at all of us.
"It's worth a try." I say once his eyes fall on mine.
"He's making people crazy."
"Sorry if Jaspers an inconvenience to you. But this isn't the Ark. Down here, every life matters."
"Take a look at him. He's a lost cause." Bellamy responds waving his hand towards the boy who's groaning at my knees.
"Clarke and I watched our parents save people daily. If we think there's hope, there's hope." I say sternly. I won't let him die.
"This isn't about hope, it's about guts. You don't have the guts to make the hard choices. I do. He's been like this for three days. If he's not better by tomorrow, I'll kill him myself." He says starting to leave. "Octavia lets go."
"I'm staying here." She says giving me a soft nod. I hear his footsteps going down the ladder, while my stomach clenches. I have no idea how to make him better by tonight.

"Power-hungry, self-serving jackass. He doesn't care about anyone but himself." Monty says. "No offense." He adds while looking up at Octavia who just shakes her head.
"Yeah. Bellamy is all that but he also happens to be right." Finn says.

Soon enough they leave, leaving Octavia, Monty, and I with Jasper.
"Do you think there's really hope?" Octavia asks me. I nod.
"We're not going to let him die." I say. She nods.

I walk out and decide to go check up on Charlotte. I look around and start asking for her and no one's seen her. I feel myself start to worry. I need to find her, there's grounders out there.
