Chapter 39

Ryumi's P.O.V.

A year later

It's been a year since the failed mission of rescuing Sasuke. Naruto was determined to find any means to get him back but since he's a genin, he wasn't given a chance to go on a mission to look for him. Though, this didn't break his spirit.

As for the rest of us, some of us ranked up early. Kyosuke had officially ranked up to Chunin level. We were all proud of him for getting ranked up. Although, his mood would soon turn sour as he finds out that both Okijiro and I have ranked up to Jonin level. Since then, he wouldn't talk to us for a while. I had a theory on why he was acting like that. After he become a Chunin, it would mean that we were all on the same level but since Okijiro and I had advanced before him, he would feel like he was behind. After a couple weeks, he came around. He still had small amounts of a sour attitude but it wasn't as bad as before.

As of lately, Gaara and I have been writing to each other often. It is refreshing to have someone to talk to when everyone particularly despises me except for a good few people. He's been telling me how during the year, him and his siblings helped train the ninjas in their village. I found that to be very admirable of them as they're following our example of training the next generation of genins and all. Even if we're miles and miles apart, I could see the memories of those moments he's written to me. As I got lost in the memories from Gaara's mind, I was taken out from my daydream by someone shaking me.

"Earth to Ryumi. Hello." A voice said as I was coming out of my daydream. I snapped out of it and noticed that it was Shizune shaking me. I was confused as why she was in front of me.

"Oh, Shizune. Sorry for spacing out. Is there something you need?" I asked Shizune.

"Yes, Lady Tsunade is requesting your presence. It's important." Shizune said to me and I nodded. I made my way to the Hokage's office. I made it to the Hokage's office and knocked before entering her office. I entered to see her and two other men. All of them turned to face me.

"You asked to see me Lady Hokage." I said to her as I closed the door behind me. My eyes went back and forth from Lady Hokage and the two men in front of me.

"Yes, Ryumi. These two gentlemen have travelled long and far from their village to speak with you." Lady Hokage said as she gestured to the two men.

"It's nice to finally meet you Ryumi. I'm King Fujimaru and this is my brother, Kenji." King Fujimaru said with a smile. The men in front of me dressed rather elegantly. Their kimono was a dark blue which complimented their masculine features. Their hair flowed past their shoulders and was pin straight. Not a single flaw in their hair.

"Like wise, Your Majesty." I said before bowing my head to show my respect to the king and his brother. "And what is it that you would like to talk to me about?"

"The reason for our visit is that I would like to train you personally at my village. Since the Chunin exam, I was amazed at your fighting skills more specifically the usage of the Ice Style jutsu. You see, in my village, our main chakra nature used is Water and Ice and many people can't master Ice if they haven't grasped Water." King Fujimaru said to me. It would make sense that people from a specific region would master a chakra nature best suited in their region. Water and Ice are perfect for a cold environment. "I believe you could learn a lot from what my village and I have to offer. So, what do you say, would you be willing to train in my village?"
