Ryumi's P.O.V

"It seems that I have reached my limit. My vision blurred and can no longer move my body due to the pain I'm enduring. I can faintly hear the sound of yelling in the background but I chose to ignore them. I chuckled to myself and looked up in the dull and dark sky as I saw my life flash before my eyes. I would've never thought that I would be in this situation again. It only felt like it was yesterday where I wanted to die and leave this cruel world. I contemplated to myself what would have happened if I changed how I acted back then? Maybe then I wouldn't be in this situation right now and maybe then I wouldn't have to feel this pain all over again. I shed a tear and smiled at the sky. Maybe this time I can be free from all the pain I had endured."

I open my eyes to feel the sun shining on my body. I carefully open my eyes while shielding them and see birds flying in the air peacefully. I have always liked birds because they get to fly high in the sky and not worry about their problems. I would do anything to be like the birds, just not caring about what other people think about them and be at peace. You could probably say that my only friends are birds and other animals in the forest. Though, most of the birds I see reside in the forbidden forest. The many reasons why it's called the forbidden forest is because many people come to this forest to die. That's one of the reasons why I'm always in the forest, it's to die. Though, in the numerous attempts of doing so, I always end up waking up from the dark. I always wonder why I'm still alive and still breathing? I always wonder why but not a single answer comes to mind. But the only question I have for the person who keeps saving me is why am I so important to you?

I take out one of the kunais I have with me and examine it. I wonder if I just pierce it through my body repeatedly. Would I stay dead or would someone keep saving me? As the thoughts get the best of me, something lands on my shoulder. I flinched and looked to my left shoulder to see a crow had landed on me. I sighed and lightly chuckled to myself and began to pet the crow. Without hesitation, the crow accepted my touch as most birds would do.

"Well would you look at that, a new friend now." I said to the crow while smiling a little. I walked with the crow on my shoulder. I walked slowly to take in the scenery around me. I'm always amazed at how beautiful this place is. It's peaceful and quiet and you hear and see no one around to bother you. A perfect place to let your emotions out. The trees are very tall with long branches that could branch out for miles. Flowers blowing around with different shapes, sizes and colors. The crow lept off and chipped a flower off and placed it on my ear. I was shocked at the action of the crow and blushed a little because no one has ever done that to me. For some reason, it felt like the crow could understand what I was feeling. I didn't think too much about it as I just continued to walk back to the village. I then reached the village and everyone looked at me. Their gazes felt like sharp blades cutting through me. Everyone moved away from me and started to whisper amongst each other

"It is no wonder that everyone avoids her. She's a bad omen. Carrying a crow on her shoulder would surely bring bad luck and intention." One of the villagers said to another villager. As much as their words hurt me, I'm pretty much used to them. No matter what they say, they will always find a way to bring me down. In the end, I always let them do what they want to me because what do I have to lose? What's the point in fighting back when you have nothing to live for?

"Carrying birds like that is a bad omen. Do you have a death wish or something?" One of the male villagers said to me with a stern voice. I didn't answer because no matter what, nothing will turn out good. He then went on to push me to the ground. and said, "Hey, didn't anyone tell you that it's rude to not answer someone when they're talking to you?" I continued to say nothing once again. "Oh yeah, that's right. They're dead and left a worthless child behind." He then punched my face and I fell to the floor. As much as I wanted that to be true, what he said was a lie. In reality, my father and my two brothers are alive. The only reason why I said that my parents were dead because no one can know who they are. If anyone knew I was the daughter of a well-known ninja then no one would believe me and they would continue to beat me. I only lied to cover up who my real family are. As I fell, I heard someone yell out in pain. I looked up and was shocked to see that the crow that was with me ripped the eye out of the villager.
