Meant To Be Together

CHAPTER - 4

After having a peaceful sleep for whole three hours, now Nikhil was feeling fresh and relaxed. He knew the moment he will step out from his room, he will be bombard with questions from his family regarding today's meeting. So he have to be well prepared for  the same.

Now thinking about his conversation with Shreya earlier, he thought that she may be right. Like if he says no to her, then his mother will again come with some other alliance, and he know that he can't deny for marriage in future.

Someday or another he will be forced to get marry and if that girl had some high expectations from him then it will be a huge blunder. On the other hand, Shreya barely doesn't have any expectations from him and more over he has already cleared everything to her. So it's not like that he is keeping her in dark or doing injustice with her.

She also wants the same, marriage only for the happiness of her parents. But she said she can't love someone again so that means she was also betrayed by her lover and had a harsh breakup or was it a one sided love. He put all these thoughts aside thinking it's her personal matter.

After thinking about all the possible pro's and con's of this marriage, he decided to give a chance to this relation and taking a risk for life-long.

When he came down stairs, everyone was having their evening tea. The moment he sat on sofa, his mother  asked, "Nikhil, at least now tell how was the meeting with Shreya?"

"Ya , plz tell bhai. We are waiting for so long."

"It was okay."

"Okay? What kind of answer it is. Means you liked her or not?" Reena asked.

" What did you both talked about?" this time his father asked.

" First question would have been, Miss what is your name? If I would not have been there, you would have been again rejected by a girl." Vikram said laughing. " You know I at least expect a proper thankyou with a gift for saving you from embarrassment."  

"Vikram" Reena called him in a stern voice and told him to be quite for sometime .

" I am okay with this marriage."

" Means it's a yes from you?" Reena asked confirming him.

"Hmm." 

"Wow that's soo good. Amit, call and inform them that it's a yes from our side." Reena said feeling all happy that his son has finally decided to settle down.

" Dad" Nikhil said stopping his father who was about to call them. " Ask them to ask about her decision also. I mean there is no need to force them." Even though he already knew it's a yes from her side, but still he wanted to confirm that she is all sure about that.

" Manish is a very nice man. I know he will never force his daughters for anything, still I will tell him to ask Shreya about this." Saying this he went to call them followed by Reena. 

"Bhai, I'm soo happy for you but the main concern is that she also need to say 'yes' to you ." Vikram said hugging or more like jumping on Nikhil which made him smile but listening his next words he pushed him which made Vikram to land on the floor. Just then Amit and Reena came back to the living room.

" It's a yes from them also and we they have invited us for dinner tomorrow at their house for further discussion. Oh God! I'm soo happy finally you are going to get married." Reena said  happily.

Vikram again launched on him saying , " Finally we found a girl who didn't rejected you." Vikram said laughing with his father. Getting all irritated, Nikhil hit him on his stomach with his elbow painfully which made him cry. Laughing at their antics, Amit patted his shoulder saying congratulations to him and went from there to his room.

Nikhil too went to his room to complete his office work.

Today it was all hectic for Shreya. Firstly she was so engrossed in her dreamland that she slept a little more than her usual time, okay not little but for an hour extra and that to after switching off her alarm thinking to take an extra sleep for just five minutes which ended up to an hour. Due to which she got late for her office.

And now when she is finally back from her office and wanted nothing more but to relax for some time, her mother is making her do all the work for today's dinner.

"Shreya, check who's at the door." Aruna ordered her once again hearing the door bell.

" Iss ghar main sare kaam mujhe hi karne parte hain. Main na hun toh pata nahi kya hi hoga inn logo ka and moreover iss ghar ka."  Sulking at her mother's word she went to open the door.

(" Every work in this house has to be done by me only. God knows what will happen if I am not here.")

"Shreyu I'm so happy for you." Her sister Priya said hugging her.

Shreya smiled a little hugging her sister back.

" Tell me how's the guy? How he looks? is he handsome or not."

" I'm also fine di, you tell how are you and where is jiju."

"Oh I see, dodging my questions. I'm good and Dhruv has gone to Mumbai for some business purpose." She said making her self comfortable on sofa. 

"And what the hell you are doing downstairs. You should go and start getting ready. It's already six and they will be here by eight."

"It's all because of your mom. She is making me do all the work." She said pouting.

"Yaa, like you are really helping me . All you are doing is wandering around." Aruna stated making Shreya jaw drop at her mother's allegations.

" Shreya you go and get ready, me and Priya will help your mother." Manish said to her politely.

Nodding at her father she went to her room to get ready with the same question in her mind, ' What should she wear?'

After an hour she was all ready in a light blue chiffon silk Anarkali suit. She was applying lipstick when her sister came informing about their arrival. Taking a final glance at herself, she came out of her dressing room and went outside with her sister.

Suddenly, there was silence in the hall, everyone was looking at her.

'Way to make me feel more nervous, aagh people of this planet', she thought.

Nikhil's mother got up from her seat and smiled at her warmly. After greeting both his parents, her eyes wandered and spot the person who was going to be her husband. He was standing beside his father wearing a blue shirt with grey checkered pant. 

After sitting, they started having a normal conversation with her asking her about few questions here and there and telling about themselves and about Nikhil in between while Nikhil was sitting quietly observing everything.

"Well, let's have dinner first. After that we can do further discussions." Aruna said. 

They all went towards dining table and settled themselves down. Shreya was about to sit beside Priya but before that Vikram quickly went and  sat there . Now the only space which was left was beside Nikhil so sighing she sat there.

After dinner everyone again gathered in the living room when Reena spoke,

" I think we should let them to talk alone.."

"of course, Shreya take Nikhil to your room ." Manish said this time.

Giving a small nod to her father, she started walking towards her room with him behind her. Making a mental note to clear all her doubts which she was having from yesterday after their meeting.
