CHAPTER - 9

It had already been a month, since our engagement, and the last month went quite well. Mom and dad are busy with preparations and shopping and here I am in my office, making some boaring presentations for a meeting.

Now, coming to Nikhil, I have been on a good terms with him. I mean we don't talk on daily basis but make sure to atleast send good morning and good night messages to each other daily. Basically it was started by him after our engagement and now this thing has become our daily routine.

Apart from that, we have only met 2-3 times in the past one month and that too with our families. We have become good friends. And today is one of those days, we are going to meet for lunch in a restaurant near my office.

I don't know what he wanted to talk about that he insisted for this lunch. Last time we talked alone was after engagement, when we went on a drive.

Thinking about that, he shared his past with me. A part of his life, which was meant to be personal, to be confined deep inside his heart with me. Only to make me feel comfortable.

He trusted me enough to tell about his ex, which he didn't even tell about to his family, just because I'm going to be his better half.

I don't know, if I would have this much courage to share about my past with him. Although, he said he don't want to know about it, but I know better.

Secrets in a relationship and that to from your partner often leads to conflicts in future. And that's a mistake, I don't want to make.

Not now, but someday when I will be confident enough, I will share all my secrets with him, which I always wanted to let out.

My chain of thoughts broke with ringing of my phone. It was a call from Mahi.

"Hey babe, what's up?" She asked as soon as I picked up the call.

"Hii, as usual office and work." I answered remembering, I still had a presentation to prepare.

" So wanna go for a lunch?"

" Not today, I had some other plans. But we can meet tomorrow." I suggested.

"Plans? With whom?"

"Actually, I am going for lunch with Nikhil." As much as I don't want to tell her about my plans knowing very well she is going to tease me till end, but do I have another choice? No.

" Oh ho, going on a Lunch Date with Jiju." She said teasingly. I knew she will say this. I groaned mentally for not being able to lie to them.

" It's nothing like that. He had a meeting near my office, so he asked me to join him for Lunch." I lied hoping she would stop with her teasing.

"You know, you can make this simple boring Lunch, A Lunch date, you just have to take a step forward." She said with a mischievous tone which I knew way too well.

"No thanks for your advice." I said with a lip tight smile.

"But listen..."

"Will talk to you later, Nikhil is about to come. Okay Bye." I cut her off before she could say anything else and ended the call and started completing my work.

After about 20 minutes, Nikhil messaged that he's outside my office, so taking my handbag I went towards lift and went downstairs.

We came to one of his restaurant, which is near my office only for lunch. The interior of this restaurant was very modern and lively, giving an homely feeling. Opposite to one, where we met for the first time.
