Meant To Be Together

CHAPTER - 20

Nikhil stirred in his sleep, when he felt sunlight falling on his face from behind the curtains and slowly opened his eyes ready to embrace a new day. Today is his one month anniversary.

He took his phone from the night stand and saw it was 6:00. Nikhil then looked beside him, only to be met with the beautiful sight of his wife sleeping peacefully hugging his arms tightly and her face was rested on his biceps.

From the past one month, he has been waking up to this beautiful sight only. On the first day of their married life, when he saw Shreya hugging his arms , he thought to wake her up but didn't know why he couldn't bring himself to do so. He convinced himself saying that, Shreya must be really tired and he doesn't want to disturb her.

And now this has become their daily habit. Shreya sleeps on his biceps and him holding her, knowing well that she doesn't have any slightest idea about this which he also intends to keep as his little secret.

Nikhil smiled looking at her who is sleeping innocently in his arms without any worry. He put her hair stand behind her ear which was disturbing her.

In this one month, he got to know a lot of things about Shreya. First and foremost she loves her sleep way too much, if she is free then definitely you will find her sleeping . She is a very innocent and childish girl who acts like a mature person, suppressing that little girl in her heart.

She is the type of person who only knows to spread love and happiness which he has witnessed himself. In this past month, she has come really close to his family. She loves and takes care of his parents like their daughter and supports Vikram like an elder sister.

And talking about him, they have become very good friends. It has become their daily routine to tell each other about their day before bedtime.

Gently keeping her head on her pillow and covering her with a duvet, he got up from the bed and went to the washroom, After changing into his joggers, he went out for his morning run and then to the gym.

After one and an half hour, he came back. As it was Saturday, so Shreya was still sleeping. He went to bathroom to take a bath.

When he came out, Shreya was awake and was using her phone. Noticing Nikhil, she wished her good morning.

" Good morning and Happy One Month Anniversary to you." Shreya said with a small smile.

" I didn't expected that you will wish."

" And why so?" Shreya asked to which Nikhil just shrugged his shoulders.

" See, I know this marriage means nothing to us but at the end we are husband and wife and no one can change this truth not even God, so let's just celebrate these small little moments. These all will make it easier for us to live with each other." Shreya said.

" Yaa right."

"Happy one month to us" Nikhil said giving her flowers which he had bought earlier, while returning back from jogging.

Seeing flowers, a bright smile formed on Shreya's face. "These are for me? " She asked making him nod his head.

" Thank you so much. They are so beautiful."

" It seems you love flowers a lot." Nikhil commented seeing Shreya all happy and excited receiving flowers.

" Yes, immensely. You know you are the first person who has given me flowers." She said looking at him.

"Really? I don't believe that."

" Really. I have received a lot of gifts from my family and friends, but none of them have ever given me flowers. So thank you for fulfilling one of my wishes."
