A warm sunlight gently filters through the partially drawn curtains, casting a gentle glow in their cozy room. Nikhil stirred in sleep hearing the chirping sound of the birds which were quite difficult to hear in the busy streets of Delhi.
He opened his eyes and outside through windows. The air feels fresh and outside the window, and one can glimpse a tranquil view of greenery. The atmosphere is calm, inviting the start of a new day with a sense of peace and promise.
He was feeling all fresh, because of sleeping for too long after a long time. With all these wedding preparations and then his office work he didn't get any proper rest.
He got up from bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
When he came out, Shreya was still sleeping, now hugging the pillow like her life depends on it. Shaking his head, he went towards him and called her,
" Shreya, wake up now."
" Hmmm.... let me sleep for some more time." She said, still sleeping.
" It's already 10. How long will you sleep?"
" Just 5 more minutes please. This bed is so comfortable, I can sleep here all day."
" I know your five minutes will turn into an hour. So get up this instant, now."
Whining a little, she opened her eyes and passed him a deadly glare. Still glaring at him she went to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
After half an hour she was all ready in blue denim shorts with an off-white crop top. She found Nikhil standing near the pool talking with someone on the phone. He was wearing white shirt with sky blue stripes paired with white pants.
Suddenly an evil plan came to her mind for distributing her beauty sleep earlier. So, she slowly went near him without making any noise and screamed near his ears.
He got startled due to this sudden act and fell into the pool making her laugh aloud while he was still in the pool trying to understand what happened a few minutes ago.
" What was that?" He asked still in shock.
" Punishment my dear husband for waking me up from my beauty sleep." Shreya said controlling her laughter, sitting on her toes at the edge of the pool.
She forwarded her hand towards Nikhil, helping him to come out. He held her hands but instead of coming out he pulled her hand towards him making her also fall into the pool.
She straight away landed on his chest and held his shoulders tightly while his hands went around her waist holding her securely.
" And this was my way of taking revenge, darling." He said leaning close to her ears in a slow but husky voice. She felt goosebumps rise in her skin due to their proximity.
They were standing very close to each other with their clothes all drenched. His shirt was now clung to his body like second skin giving a hot view to her eyes. A small blush adorned her cheeks looking at his ever so hot and perfect body. While her clothes were also got all wet and now her black bra was visible to him from her white top making his ears turn red.
But something clicked in his mind and he asked looking at her clothes, " My dear wife, Were you twinning with me?"
" Hmm... no. .. It..it must be a coincidence." She said stuttering. No way she was going to admit that she indeed planned to wear a matching outfit.
"But it doesn't seem like that." He said with a small smirk.
" Leave... me...." Shreya requested trying to free herself from his hold
