[K]uroo held the door open for Yumiko, watching as she stepped into his office. The room was spacious and well-lit, with large windows offering a panoramic view of the city. His desk, a modern piece of dark wood, sat in the centre, flanked by bookshelves filled with sports memorabilia, trophies, and binders. A few framed photographs of his high school volleyball team adorned the walls, adding a personal touch to the otherwise professional space.

A plush dark leather sofa and a pair of matching chairs provided a seating area near the corner, next to a coffee table stacked with industry magazines.

Yumiko took a seat in one of the chairs opposite Kuroo's desk, her movements weary. Kuroo followed, settling into his office chair behind his desk before silently prompting her to speak with a nod.

"I'm sorry for showing up unannounced like this," she began, her voice tinged with urgency. "I know you're busy, but I was desperate. You know Kenma more than anyone else, and you know that I've liked him ever since high school." Everyone knew, except Kenma who was dense when it came to romance involving himself.

Her eyes flickered with a mix of frustration. "What am I doing wrong, Kuroo? What do I need to change for him to even just glance in my direction?"

Kuroo listened intently, leaning back in his chair while understanding the turmoil behind her words. He sighed deeply, knowing how hard it was to reach Kenma on a romantic level. At some point Kuroo was even convinced the man was incapable of any romantic emotions. "I get it. Having a crush on Kenma is like having a knife wound that never heals. He hardly pays attention to women in that way. The one time he actually fell for someone, he couldn't stop thinking about her for years."
