[A]fter Kenma eventually left, Yuto, his head programmer, guided you to the centre of the programming section. The open-plan office buzzed with activity, the ambient hum of keyboards and quiet conversations filling the air. Desks were arranged in clusters, each one personalised with various gadgets, figurines, and sticky notes.

Yuto stopped in front of his team, who were gathered around a large whiteboard filled with scribbles and diagrams of completely unrelated images. The team members, mostly in their late twenties, looked up from their work, their curiosity piqued by your arrival.

"Alright, everyone," Yuto began, clapping his hands to get their attention as you bowed your head. "This is L/n Y/n. She's going to be doing an apprenticeship with us, focusing on hardware engineering and how it integrates with our programming for the next few months. She was recommended by Kozume-san personally, so I'm expecting you all to treat her with respect."

A few team members exchanged glances. Some looked intrigued, while others seemed indifferent. One or two cast sideways glances that bordered on dismissive. You noticed the hostile looks, and instead of shying away, you raised an eyebrow and met their gazes with a steely glare of your own. Sure, you might have slipped your way in through connections, but that didn't mean they had to be pressed about it. Not that you were too worried; you had faced a lot worse than a few dirty looks after all.

Yuto continued, unfazed by the subtle tension. "Y/n will be learning from all of you, so treat her well and share your expertise. This is a great opportunity for us to learn from her too."
