[A]fter your phone call with Suguru, you took a deep breath, steeling yourself despite the ongoing turmoil inside you. Your mind raced with fear and uncertainty, but you put on a brave face before stepping out of the bedroom. The familiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the penthouse, mingling with the sound of low conversation coming from the kitchen. As you approached, you caught snippets of Kuroo and Kenma's conversation.

"You should seriously try getting more sleep Kenma," Kuroo was saying, his tone half-chiding, half-concerned.

Kenma, leaning against the counter with a sleepy but stubborn expression, shot back effortlessly. "You should seriously try fixing your hair."

Kuroo snorted, giving Kenma a playful shove. "Touche."

Kenma groaned, squinting at Kuroo. "Why are you here so early anyway?" His voice was raspy with sleep. Why was the tall man ever there so damn early?

Kuroo grinned. "Just thought I'd drop by. By the way, what's with the new watch?" He pointed at Kenma's wrist, where a sleek, stylish watch gleamed. "I thought you hated wearing watches." And it was an expensive brand no less, Kenma was never particularly fond of branded or popular items everyone was into.

Kenma blinked and glanced at his wrist, a small blush creeping up his cheeks. "Y/n got it for me."

Kuroo's eyebrows shot up. "Oh," he grinned teasingly. "I vividly remember you ranting about how watches were just 'time shackles' and 'pointless wrist weights', swearing how you'd be caught dead wearing one."
