My writing is a little rusty so don't mind it 🐙 The end of the chapter is a bit dramatic and sad for Kataang but it will get better eventually. Read till the end to find out what happens with Kataang.
Aang:
The war finally ended. We were the ones who ended it. It felt so good to be at peace . Finally. I was so tired, exhausted even. My exhaustion seemed to wash away as I embraced Katara and kept her close. Her hair smelled of lavender and felt so soft over my hands. Our hug felt like eternity. Eventually she pulled apart and looked at me . I was still a little flushed after our shared kiss. She seemed to feel the same way as her cheeks redend.„Aang I-„ She started but was interrupted.
„Uhh what's going on?" Sokka appeared out of nowhere and darted the question as he saw the situation we were in.
„We are having a private moment Sokka. Do you mind?" she turned around to fully face him and placed her hands on her hips.
„I do mind actually. I don't permit you to gross me out with that stuff." he crossed his arms and stood taller.
„So leave" Katara said in an annoyed voice as she shoved him out. She began walking back towards me.
„And just so you know , the balcony is a public space so if you want a private moment, you should find a private place." Sokka quickly said as he vanished. I giggled slightly. I'm glad he was taking it lightly.
„Ugh I could just strangle him sometimes" she said leaning on the balcony railings and looking at me.
„He only means well" I said smiling at her.
„I know" she said smiling back and looking at the sunset. The scenery in front of us was truly beautiful. Breathing in the warm air and looking at the girl next to me made me smile again.
„Aang, what are you smiling at?" I hadn't even noticed I was staring at her. How long did I do that for?
„Oh nothing" I was blushing and started to scratch my neck. I was still nervous around her. Although I felt most comfortable in her presence, she still made me very nervous.
„It's almost dusk" She pointed out which made me remember.
„Oh right, the dinner. I guess we shouldn't keep the others waiting" she started walking in front of me towards the others.
Before she reached the others , I took her hand pulled her in for a kiss. I don't know what came over me but it just felt right.
After some time we let go of each other and she looked down.„What was that for?" she asked shyly.
„I didn't want this moment to end" Then I took her hand and pulled her inside as we giggled. Everyone was already standing there ready to go. They were waiting for us. It made me blush but I quickly shrugged it off.
„Look who finally decided to join us." Said Toph walking towards the door.
„ Yeah look who did." Toph turned around and punched Sokka in the arm and he squealed . We all laughed and started walking towards the door.
„What were you guys doing out there so long?" Sokka asked as he walked behind us.
„Well we were uh-„ I started explaining but didn't have the chance to finish.
„You know what nevermind, I don't want to know. Your oogies don't interest me, so do me a favor and don't let me see them, ever." he said throwing his arms up as he made a disgusted face. I smiled lightly. We were walking towards Appa.
