I woke up early this morning, as I always do. I started the morning with meditation and waterbending practice. Katara would hate it if I didn't continue my training. I missed her. I know I left because of her but I missed her so much. I really hoped she wasn't too sad about me leaving. I hope she doesn't blame herself.I shook off those thoughts and continued with training. After some time of cleaning up the temple, I decided it was time to head into town and see what the mayor wanted to talk about.
I got onto Appa and we flew off. We got there pretty quickly as it was still early and the weather was calm. Many people were already awake and I asked someone for directions to the mayor's house. He told me the way and I got there quickly. I knocked on the door and a woman answered.
„May I help you?" She asked .
„Yes, I am here to speak to the mayor. He wanted to talk to me about something." A Look of realization washed over her face.
„You are the Avatar? Oh silly me, I should've known. Please, follow me." I laughed as she welcomed me inside and took me
towards a large hallway where there was a door at the end.
She knocked on it and opened the door.„Sir, the Avatar is here to see you." She said calmly.
„Oh, right. Let him in." She left us alone and I entered the room while she closed the door behind us.
„Welcome Avatar, how was you first night." It was rather rough actually. I hadn't been on solid ground and slept next to Appa without everyone else in a while. He didn't need to know that though.
„Meh, it was fine." I shrugged my shoulders. He notioned me to sit on the chair in front of his desk as he sat down as well. I did. so and he folded his arms.
„So, what did you want to talk about?" I asked studying his expression. He smiled.
„Well, you know now that I have tried to reach the temples to try to restore them." I nodded.
„And now you're here and want to rebuild them. And you have the transportation to do it." I didn't like how he called Appa transportation but I guess I knew what he meant.
„The air temples are very large as you know." He was teasing around the topic now.
„What is it that you want me to do, mayor?" I asked growing annoyed. He licked his lips and looked up.
„Let us help you rebuild them. We have the necessary tools and in that way we should finish a lot faster." His words sounded so promising.
„Who's we?" I asked.
„A lot of the people in town share my idea of rebuilding the temples. And if people knew it would help the Avatar, I'm sure more people would join in and help. What do you say?" He looked at me excitingly.
„I don't know. Those temples are ancient and very important to me. I know how everything works. I don't know if people would be able to do what needs to be done. At least do it well." I said with hesitation.
„Well, you could teach them. You would guide them through everything. I can help you. I have studied the nomads for years. I know what you you would need to know. Doing this together would help you, Avatar." He reached foreword and waited for an answer.
„I guess we could try it." I still wasn't really convinced. It was an idea though. If we did everything very carefully, we might be able to do it. It would give me more time to work on the other temples.
