Sunoo lay in the hospital bed, the soft hum of the machines and the distant murmur of voices creating a backdrop of white noise. His body ached, both from the physical injuries and the exhaustion that seemed to seep into his very bones. But it was the emptiness inside him that hurt the most—the absence of his wolf.He closed his eyes, shutting out the sterile surroundings, and tried to reach inward, searching for the familiar presence that had always been a part of him. His wolf was more than just a part of his identity; it was his confidant, his protector, the one who had always been there, especially during the darkest times. But now, there was only silence.
"Please," Sunoo whispered in his mind, his voice trembling with desperation. "Please, where are you?"
He felt a cold, hollow void where his wolf should have been. It was as if a part of his soul had been ripped away, leaving him incomplete and vulnerable. The silence was deafening, a stark contrast to the usual comforting presence that had always been there to guide him.
"Why won't you answer me?" he pleaded, tears pricking at the corners of his eyes. "I need you. I can't do this alone."
Memories of the attack flashed through his mind, each one more brutal and terrifying than the last. He had always relied on his wolf to help him through the pain and fear, to give him strength when he had none left. But now, in his greatest moment of need, his wolf was gone.
Sunoo's breath hitched as he tried to push past the fear and reach deeper, willing himself to find the connection that had always been there. He pictured his wolf, strong and majestic, a symbol of his inner strength and resilience. He imagined the bond they shared, the way they moved as one, their minds intertwined in perfect harmony.
"Please," he begged again, his mental voice a fragile whisper. "I need you to come back."
For a moment, he thought he felt a flicker of something—an echo of a presence, a faint shadow of his wolf. But it was gone as quickly as it had appeared, leaving him feeling more alone than ever.
"Why did you leave me?" Sunoo asked, his heart aching with a mixture of fear and sorrow. "Was it something I did? Are you hurt too?"
The silence was his only answer, a heavy, oppressive weight that pressed down on him. Sunoo's tears flowed freely now, mingling with the pain and loneliness that seemed to consume him.
He took a shaky breath, trying to steady himself. "I'll find you," he promised, his voice filled with a quiet determination. "I don't know how, but I will. Just please, hold on. I can't do this without you."
The emptiness remained, but Sunoo clung to the hope that somewhere, deep inside, his wolf was still there, waiting for the right moment to return. He had to believe that they would be reunited, that the bond they shared was too strong to be broken forever.
As he drifted into an uneasy sleep, Sunoo's last thoughts were a silent plea to his wolf. "Please come back to me," he whispered in his mind. "I need you now more than ever."
In the darkness of his dreams, Sunoo searched for the familiar presence, holding onto the hope that one day, he would find his wolf again and they would be whole once more.

Three days had passed, and it was time for Sunoo to be discharged from the hospital. During his stay, Sunghoon had been a constant presence, much to Sunoo's bewilderment. He couldn't fathom why a true alpha, the general of the pack’s warriors no less, would spend so much time with him, more than half of his days. Sunghoon had even started bringing Sunoo sweets everyday since he learned that the younger enjoyed it. This simple act of consideration touched Sunoo deeply, though he found it difficult to express his gratitude.
