Vergil's Haunting Part 3

While Vergil was cleaning up demon blood on his front deck, I went inside to organize myself and freshen up.

As the evening went by I was surprised to notice Vergil had no idea I snuck out with Nero. He only assumed I was playing outside on the property behind the house, and the blood smell was the demons coming to attack his home.

However, I was pretty sure the smell of blood he mumbled was from me as well.

There was a knock on my door. "_____ are you here?"

"Yes?" I set my book down. I was greeted by classic V. "Oh, hi."

'Here we go..., payback for that phone conversation earlier.' I sighed mentally. I gave v a little smile. ' I need to remember this is Vergil too. Anything I tell him, Vergil can bring back tenfold.'

" I have brought some tea." I looked at the tray in V's hand. He looked at my face. "You look tired, are you alright?"

"I'm fine V." I tilted my head. It was almost night now. It's normal for people to look tired by nightfall. "Noo..." He set the tea down on my side table. Then walked closer to me. "No..." He repeats. "This is different...long day perhaps?"

His eyes were soft, and as he slowly approached me he and very lightly touched my chin with his hands. I took a step back from his touch. This was too much, I felt like he was interrogating me...about where I was. Was I wrong?

"Ah excuse me..I did not mean to make you uncomfortable." He dropped his hand. "You just look like you are ill."

"N-no I'm okay," I replied.

"Even so, drink this herbal tea..it will help chase those demons away." He smirked at the end.

"Of course thanks for the tea." My head was hurting now, asking him to please stop staring at me like that.

"I will take my leave now. Good night ____."

V left my room. Feeling still like he hasn't done enough yet. To repay his partner for all the trouble he once caused.

"Shadow... I summon thee." The large black cat came out on his command. Stay with ____. Tomorrow and tonight. Just be there for her. I will go to work like this. It shouldn't be an issue for me."

The big cat purred in response. With a light push on the door with his cane. Shadow walked into ___'s room.

Shadow stayed with me all night.

( Next Day)

I walk walking to the kitchen trying to get sleep feeling off me. V glanced at me from the corner. Book in hand with a cup of coffee. He raised his book in the air a bit to greet me.

'Of course...V.' I sighed mentally. 

On the counter, V left me my favourite breakfast drink ( Tea/ Coffee).

( Dante's Home)

He was looking at himself in the broken mirror. Feeling sleepy and lazy. He had to prepare himself for the day. To deal with his brother later. He asked Nero to deal with some demons that customers were complaining about.

Little did Dante know, my plan was to go with Nero today to deal with that. Not even Vergil knew.

"I need to fix this mirror..." His eyes flash a little demonic colour. The mirror was cracked during the time the demons flooded the area around his home. Nero and ____ were here. He and his brother outside trying to get back on time. The demons ended up damaging his mirror.

(Vergil's Home)

"I need to take my leave now." V walked up to me and placed a hand on top on top of my head. I froze in place, wondering what he was thinking. "Be good till. I'm leaving Shadow here with you." He glanced at me with his soft green eyes.

"Is it...alright if I go outside for a walk?" I tried to ask.

V paused... to think. He wasn't able to put the puzzle together yet.

"I do not mind, just don't go alone....stay away from the demons.." I could hear his inner demon growl a bit at the end. Not at me, but the thought of those things touching him. Made him burn.

He might have been V, but I could feel the cold icy side of his seeping through.
