Pt. 4

Southeast Isla Nublar 5:11 PM

"Hey Claire" a man in jeans and a sweatshirt said as walked up to a large 30ft tall, 12 acre wide, 12 acre long cage.

"Believe me Owen, I didn't want to get you. Masrani wanted you to check the cage to make sure she won't escape, since you've well... Since you're kinda our dino whisperer." Claire said as Owen Grady shook his head.

"It's a bond, it's based on trust, y'know the same type of trust a mom or dad has with their kids. And second, I am sorry that I am not as uptight as you, but some of us need to accept the real world." Owen said as he walked up the flight of stairs to get to the observation room.

"Whatever, just tell us what you think needs work, and we'll see what we can do." Claire said as the two entered the room.

"What I don't get is why you don't just make the herbivores, I'm sure there's some cool ones in there." Owen said "and also one thing that could definitely be changed is your attitude."

"Please just tell us what you think of asset X9's cage and go" Claire said angrily, and Owen looked at her in disgust.

"Asset X9?" Owen asked in disgust "You could also go to learn that these are living things, not just numbers on a spreadsheet. They need to eat, fight, live ... Maybe more, just like you and me."

"Shut up! We only need your opinion on the assets quarters." Claire said, and Owen rolled his eyes as he looked around for the dinosaur.

"What am I looking for again?" Owen asked, and Claire sighed as she stared at her phone.

"Asset X9 is of the Megaraptor Namunhuaiquii Species." Claire said, and Owen rolled his eyes.

"You must be a real hoot at parties" Owen said as he looked around for any sign of the Megaraptor. "Where the hell is it?'

"After some time, it can trick the cameras, making it seem invisible, but if you turn on the heat scanner it should tell you where she is." Claire said as she continued to stare at her phone. Owen sighed as he turned the Heat scanners on, and watched as the monitors flashed red to signal that the Megaraptor wasn't in it's line of view, one by one, until there was one left, Owen looked at Claire, but she was acting as if nothing was happening. Once all the monitors flashed red, a larger screen began to turn red in a wave pattern, until something green appeared on the screen.

"How the hell did you remain calm?" Owen asked as he looked to Claire who shrugged.

"I have become desensitized because it has done this dozens of times already." Claire said as she looked up from her phone "We are currently trying to get the full scan to activate faster, but the systems insist that the cameras search first."

"Well, I am not necessarily an expert on Dinosaur Cage building. I believe that everything is fine though." Owen said as he turned to leave, and he got in his truck and drove north.
