The reality of everything has started to be too much for me. I don't know if this life is what I want. The bodies that are starting to pile up are getting concerning. This is the life my dad wanted to get away from. Each day, it was starting to become more and more clear as to why he wanted to leave.

I was thinking about all of this as I waited in a car shop with Stiles. He went inside to yell at the mechanic about all of the extra stuff he was doing.

"What a sanitary establishment you're running here" he said as he came back on the other side of the door. "What are you talking about" I asked him. "There was some like slimy substance on the door knob" he told me as he wiped his hand on his jacket.

He took his phone out and looked up and I could hear his heart start beating faster. I looked up to see a lizard-like creature on Stiles' car. I went to open the door and to my surprise it was locked.

How could it have been locked when Stiles' had just used it? It didn't matter. Stiles had fallen to the ground and dropped his phone unable to move.

"Stiles?!" I yelled as I sat down and shook him. I must've touched where he wiped his hand earlier because whatever it was had got on my hand too.

I ignored it. "What's going on?" I asked him. "I can't move" he told me through shaky breaths.

I felt my hands start to tingle. As though they were going numb. My knees locked and I fell to my side. My head was just barely above his. Giving me the privilege of a slight no one would want to see.

Stiles was trying his best to call 911 as we witnessed that creature cut the mechanic with its tail, causing him to fall to the ground in a similar situation as Stiles and I. I shut my eyes as tears were escaping. I could hear the mechanic calling for help. I could hear his heart beating. Faster. Faster. Nothing. I opened my eyes to that lizard-like creature hissing at Stiles and I. It quickly made an exit to reveal Stile's jeep on top of the now dead mechanic.

"I told you, I just... I walked in, and I saw the jeep on top of the guy. That's all" Scott tells his dad as they sat on an ambulance.

"What about you Miss Rodriguez?" Sheriff turned to me. "I walked in as he was on the phone. I looked over and saw what was going on. I kind of just like stood there. In shock." "Well, you kids need to get home".

A few minutes had passed when Scott pulled up in his mom's car to take us home. "You guys go ahead, I have to meet my mom somewhere' I lied.

Scott looked at me funny. As if he knew I was lying. He probably did. I didn't pay too much attention to it.

I listened before entering the building that Derek was training the new betas in. It sounded like they weren't doing too well on their attacks.

As I approached the door I saw Erica jump on Derek and start making out with him.

Just as he pushed her off of him, I ran up to Derek and clawed at his leg. I proceeded to jump up and punch him before slashing his stomach.

He took a step back and I stopped attacking him.

"I need you guys to take note. That's how you do it". Derek announced. "She didn't even do anything. She snuck you." "You don't think that the hunters will do the same!?" Derek yelled as he shined his bright red eyes at Erica. "Emilia came in here and did something neither of you could".

"Are we done? Cause I got about a hundred bones that need a few hours to heal" Isaac tells us. Derek leans down at his level and takes his arm. Then breaks another bone in him.

"You think I'm teaching you how to fight, huh?" Derek asked as Isaac screamed in pain, "I'm teaching you how to survive".

"If they wanted us dead, why aren't they coming for us now? What are they waiting for?" Isaac asked. "I don't know. But they're planning something. And you especially, know that's not our only problem. Whatever it was that killed Isaac's father, I think killed someone else last night. Which means I need to teach you guys everything that I know. As fast as I can" Derek says as he leaves us all behind.

The following day there was a lacrosse tournament but there was a lot more going on outside of it.

"Emilia, have you been to Allison's house lately?" Scott asked me. "Not really. Ever since her extended family has come, I haven't really wanted to. I don't want to accidentally shift in front of them or anything like that. Why?" 'Well, we're trying to find this book with whatever the Argents have found". "Oh, like a bestiary." "That's what Stiles said. We're trying to find it tonight. The plan is that whatever you and Stiles saw at the auto shop, might be in it".

"So what's the plan?" "Well, we think that Gerard has it and Allison thinks that it's in his office. So we're going to try to get his keys during the game. Stiles is going to find the book". "Okay, so what do I need to do?" "Well, I think that Erica and Boyd might be there tonight. I'll be playing. Can you keep an eye on them?" I nodded my head in agreement. "Alright, I'll see you at the game" I told Scott as I left him.

The game was going fine and everything seemed to be going according to plan. Stiles had left with the keys.

Stiles being gone, left coach down a player. Being that the other team had a monster of a player on their team. Coach panicked and chose Boyd to join the team and play. Erica attempted to stop him but it was no hope.

After that whole issue sorted and Boyd got a jersey, I turned around to see Erica had disappeared. Also, that Stiles hadn't been back yet.

I left the game and went searching around the school. Stiles left the office alone. I tried to call Scott but he was no hope.

Some time later, Scott eventually called me back.

"It's not a book! It's on his keys." Scott tells me. "Okay, but I can't find Stiles. He left the office with the keys in the door alone." "Okay, I'll be there" Scott tells me.

Right when Scott makes it to Gerard's office he took the keys. We then heard a something screeching coming from an entirely different part of the school.

We ran to find where it came from. We ended up at the pools. I looked around and found Stiles and Derek struggling in the water. Scott rushed to them and pulled them both out.

I ran to where Stiles landed. "Are you okay? What happened?" I asked him. The boy was too busy catching his breath to respond.

I looked the other way to see Scott challenging the very lizard-like thing that killed the mechanic. It charged at Scott then slowed down. It examined the glass in Scott's hand and ran out of the pool house.

I pulled Stiles up to his feet so he could move. We left the pool house and hooked up the flash drive to Scott's computer.

"How are we supposed to figure out what this thing is?" Scott asked. "It's called a Kanima" Derek tells us as he approaches with Erica.

"You knew the whole time." Stiles said seeming very annoyed. "No. Only when it was confused by its own reflection." Derek responded. "It doesn't know what it is?" I asked. "Or who" Derek replied.

"What else do you know" Stiles asked. "Just stories. Rumors." "It's like us?" Scott asked. "It's a shape shifter, yes. But it's not right. It's like a..." "An abomination" Stiles finished for Derek.

Derek nodded in agreement and started to walk away. Scott stopped him.

"Derek! We need to work together not his. Maybe even tell the Argents." "You trust them?" "Nobody trusts anyone. That's the problem. While we're here arguing who's on what side, there's something out there that's scarier, stronger, and faster than everybody and it's killing people! And we still don't know anything about it!" Scott yelled. "Well, I know one thing. When I find it, I'm gonna kill it" Derek says as he finally walks away.
