"Remind me again why you're doing this?" "A snake can't be poisoned by its own venom. If Jackson isn't the Kanima, then he won't get paralyzed." Derek tells me.
Moments later, Erica walks in holding Jackson and Isaac starts to help her.
I stepped back so Jackson wouldn't see me. I didn't want him to run his mouth to Scott and Stiles about my whereabouts.
They hold him down as Derek puts gloves on and grabs a piece of glass from the night before. He approaches Jackson as Isaac holds his jaw open. Derek drops some of the good that was left on the glass and allowed it to pour in Jackson's mouth.
Erica and Isaac take a step back to see the effects the slimy substance would take. Jackson fell to his right side as he became paralyzed.
Derek squatted down to his level. "You've always been a snake Jackson, just not the one that we're looking for" Derek tells him as gets back up and walks away. I followed behind him.

The new plan was to move in on Lydia. I wasn't too sure if that was something I wanted to do. To me, being in a pack was about an irrefutable family. People you can always rely on no matter what. The alpha makes the tough decisions, even if the rest of the pack doesn't agree. That to me, shows that I can disagree. I shouldn't have to blindly do what Derek says. I just want a pack to stay safe.
I walked into econ and sat behind Stiles this time because someone else had sat in front of him. A few seconds later, Jackson sat beside me, behind Scott. Who was next to Stiles.
"Hey, testicle left and right." I ignored Jackson because obviously he wasn't talking to me. "What the hell is a Kanima?" Jackson continued. The three of us turned our heads to him confused on how he knows what a Kanima even is.
"Paralyzed from the neck down. Do you have any idea what that feels like?" "I'm familiar with the sensation" Stiles tells Jackson.
"Wait... Why would Derek test you? Why would he think that it's you?" Scott asked. "Do they think it's Lydia?" "I don't know, all I heard was her name and something about chemistry."
"Jackson! Do you have something you want to share with the rest of the class?" Coach yelled. "Uh, just my dying admiration for my coach". "Aww, that's cute. Now shut up!" Coach yelled at him.
Right when coach turned around, Scott grabbed Stiles and asked if he thought it was Lydia. Stiles didn't think so.
Before we knew it, econ was over and it was time for chemistry. I knew what was going to happen and I didn't want to be a part of what was happening with Lydia.
Mr.Harris paired me with Isaac for a group project.
"Isaac, you can't do it. It's not Lydia." I pleaded. "How would you know? What Derek tells us, we have to do". "No, we don't Isaac." "Do I need to tell Derek about your loyalty problems?" "I don't care what you tell Derek. I've known him longer than you. I've been in this world longer than you-" Mr.Harris hit a bell signaling for us to switch.
Isaac got up to move and sat next to Stiles. Allison then sat next to me. "What's going on?" she asked me. "Right now, nothing. I'm just hoping to keep it that way" I answered as I was mixing and combining ingredients for this assignment. Before long, the bell rang again.
Isaac was next to Lydia. Mr.Harris told us if we did the experiment right, we should be able to eat a the newly formed crystal. Isaac held it up with tongs for Lydia.
I watched as she raised it to her mouth and saw something start to slip off of it. The slime. Scott yelled at Lydia to try and stop her. It was no help. She ate the crystal and nothing happened. Nothing at all.

Scott, Stiles, Allison, and I make a plan to protect Lydia. Scott was going to distract Derek while I took his house key and went to his house. Meanwhile, Stiles and Allison would bring Lydia to Scott's after school.
"Why are we studying at Scott's house and Scott's not here?" Lydia asked as she entered the house. "He's on his way" I answered.
Jackson pulled Lydia aside while we waited.
I wondered if I would get in trouble for trying to help Lydia. Part of me didn't care. I knew in me that it wasn't her. It couldn't be. Even if it was, wouldn't it be better to have her join the pack, rather than kill her?
I sat on the couch and my leg started to shake. The night was falling. The sky was getting darker. I knew the pack was on their way to kill Lydia.
Stiles and Allison were looking out the windows. Waiting for something bad to happen.
"Emilia, are you not going to prepare?" Stiles asked me. "What? Prepare for what?" I asked as I turned towards him. I stood up then turned around to see Isaac who had gotten into the house.
"Isaac stop! You don't have to do this!" I yelled. "Yes I do!" he yelled as he tried to strike me. I fought back.
"You guys, it's here" Allison announced from upstairs. Scott wasn't too far behind her announcement with help on Isaac.
Scott threw Isaac and Erica outside. Derek was waiting with Boyd.
"You know, I think I know why you keep refusing me Scott. You're not an omega, you're already an alpha. To your own pack."
I looked to the left and right of me to see Allison and Stiles. Was he an alpha? It didn't matter. Because the Kanima crawled out of a window, followed by Lydia coming out of the house asking what was going on.
Scott looked up, "It's Jackson".
