"What"? "What? What do you mean what"? "I mean 'what' and you know what". "What what"? "That look you were giving". "I didn't give a look" Scott replies. "Oh, there was a distinct look, Scott." Stiles tells him. "What look?" "The look that says the last thing you feel like doing right now is going to a party." "It's not that. It just seems a little weird going to another high school's party." "What? Would you-" Stiles takes a deep exhale, "Gosh, one drink, all right? You'll be fine. I went to nursery school with this girl, okay? She promised to introduce us to all of her friends. So tonight, no Allison, no Em-"

I stopped in my tracks. Had he forgotten I was literally right behind him. They both stopped too. I just kept walking. He's not my boyfriend. I have no reason to be mad.

"I didn't mean- Emilia!" Stiles yelled from behind me. "No, keep talking. You're doing great!" I yelled back then continued to the girls house.

"You kind of screwed up" I heard Scott tells Stiles. "I know." "Are you going to fix it?" "I didn't mean to say her name!" "But you did" Scott says as he laughed and they started walking again.

I entered the house and a blonde girl approached me.

"Hi, um, who are you?" she asked me.

I should've thought of that. I just entered the house of someone I don't even know.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I came with Scott and-"

"Stiles!" she interrupted me as she walked right past me and kissed him.

His body language was stiff. I couldn't tell if he wanted the kiss or not. I knew I didn't like it. She took him by the arm and they walked away.

"Emilia. Emilia"! "What!" I yelled. "Your eyes!" Scott yelled at me. He took my arm and took me to the front yard of the house.

"What's going on, Emmy?" "What do you mean? Everything's fine. Just peachy!" "Emilia, why are you mad? What's wrong?" "Oh, nothing. Aside from the fact that four months ago, Stiles took me on such an amazing date. Now, all of a sudden it's like I don't even exist. As if it was nothing. And if I read too much into it then he needs to tell me. So I don't have to keep getting my feelings hurt!"

"Emilia"? I turned around and saw Stiles standing in front of the front door.

"What"? I snapped as I turned around to face him. "I never meant to lead you on. Trust me, I know what it's like to like someone and know they won't like you back". I rolled my eyes. "Not that I don't like you back. I just" he sighed.

I didn't want to wait around for him to keep choking on his words, so I started to walk back home.

I heard someone running after me and I didn't want to turn around. I didn't want to be anywhere but home.

"Emilia" Stiles says a little desperately as he grabs my arm. "I told you I don't like that"! I yelled at him as I started to walk again.

"Okay, Emilia stop! You don't understand. I mean how could you. Emilia?" Stiles started but I just kept walking. "Emilia, I really need you to stop and listen to me. Please?"

I took a deep breath and stopped where I was on the sidewalk and turned around.

"Wow, you're gonna make me walk to you? Alright then" Stiles thinks aloud as he heads towards me. Just as he reached me, he took off his flannel with his black t-shirt underneath. He handed me his flannel to wear.

"I'm not cold". "Your arms are wrapped around your body. Let's not be stubborn, for once, yeah?"

I rolled my eyes and took his flannel, not to wear it, but I did hold it so I wouldn't have to hear anymore about it from him.

"Emilia, I don't have much experience with girls. I couldn't even tell that you liked me. I didn't think a girl as beautiful as you, could like someone like me."

"What are you trying to tell me? Because quite frankly, I just want to go home and watch a movie with my dad or call a friend from back in Phoenix."

"I don't want you to go home yet, Emilia. I-I want to talk to you and get an understanding about this-"

"About what? What even is this? Most people, when most people like someone, they don't enter a party and start making out with the first person they see".

"Well, she kissed me. Which caught me by surprise. Then she slipped a condom in my hand and when I realized what was going on, I told her I was flattered but there was someone else that I'd rather be with".

"And who would that be"?

"Just this one girl. Who is so incredibly smart. She loves to help out with her friends. Even if she's been accused of being the enemy. She's unbelievably beautiful. She could outrun just about anything. Which reminds me, you should def join cross country. Coach makes all of the lacrosse players run it, and I think it would be a fun thing for us to do together."

He kept talking and I kind of spaced out. I didn't know what exactly he wanted me to say. To the whole cross thing.

"Well, there's this one boy. I don't think he thinks that highly of himself. But what I do see from him, is how loyal he is. He's extremely brave. Courageous, intelligent, funny. A bit of a smart ass."

"Is he cute"? Stiles asked as he interrupted me.

"Just a little." I said with a shrug.

"Right. Just a little. Not that much" he says with a slight smile as he wrapped his arms around the back of my neck.

I looked up at him but just as I did, he kissed me. I wasn't caught off guard. It felt "just right". Like it was a perfect moment. That I had the privilege of sharing with him.

Stiles decided to walk me the rest of the way home. Being that he, Scott, and I walked to the party to begin with. Yet, we were stopped when Scott called us about something with Allison and Lydia.
