The camping trip began with fire, Max's tattoos flickered to life after they had made a pyramid shape with sticks and stuffed the dry grass beneath, they surrounded the structure with pebbles and rocks from the river before lighting it.

Max peeled the garments of their fingers and poked the sticks as the deer tattoo blinked and turned around, pressing its snout to Max's finger, and glowing like a small flame, the deer lit the fire and crawled back up to Max's shoulder, resting on their bicep.

Meanwhile, Corvus had stored a pack of marshmallows in the rucksack when they first brought it, turns out he stole it and slipped it into the bag pack assuming he was going to be the one to carry it.

His claws tore into the packets and once he felt satisfied with the rip he made, he put the bag down and searched around for a stick to use, once he found one, he shook any access and loose parts of it and returned to the bag.

Max who was blowing oxygen into the fire, using their breath to do it, stopped to look at Corvus.

"Hey wait." They began. "You have to wash up and rinse your stick first."

Corvus wondered of with a questioning look. "Why?"

"So, you don't get any bugs in your mouth." Max shrugged and smiled at how Corvus whole body shivered and jerked.

"Come over here." They prompted and Corvus was quick to follow, Max took the stick out of Corvus's, and their tail slipped around it and held it under water.

Max took Corvus's hands with their left on and dragged them underwater. "Here, just give them a wash like you would in the kitchen."

"But." Corvus looked around. "There's no soap."

Max snorted.

"It's an actual concern to have." Corvus was quick to say only resulting in Max laughing again.

"Alright." Max huffed as they took Corvus's hands out of the water and rub them together, washing as water fell. "That looks good, now you can smoke some marshmallows." They said as they passed Corvus his stick.

"Smoke." Corvus repeated as he walked around Max to the fire and then to the packet of marshmallows.

Max pulled the glove back onto their hand and stood with a grunt, their limbs ached as they walked to the boulder and sat against it with a sigh, they wrung their hands together and crossed their legs, they would at least stay awake until Corvus fell asleep.

"Little wolf? your marshmallow is about to fall." Max observed the dripping cream from spherical shape on the end of the stick.

Corvus whipped his head around so fast that Max feared it would fly off. "Little wolf?" He questioned, a wide smile of his face.

"Are you ok with it?" Max said nervously.

"Yes-yes." Corvus was quick to nod.

"Oh good-Your marshmallow?" Max pointed to the goop that was dripping at a faster rate.

It dropped into the fire and Max winced as Corvus pouted.

Max fished a second marshmallow out of the packet and held it up to Corvus. "Want help?" They asked.

"Yes please." Corvus nodded as he took the marshmallow from Max's gloved hand poked it through the end of the stick.

"Now, you want to hold it right over the fire, not touching it in any way." Max explained.

"Alright." Corvus nodded.

A few moments passed before Max spoke again. "Now you can start to lower it, once it's touching the flames pull it up." They advised.
