The Unplanned Pregnancy

Ch. 12

I have my job interview today and I'm honestly nervous. I told my dad about it last night and he was happy for me that he cried over the phone. He always wanted me to work for that school and I never paid it any mind. But it's almost coming true. 

I finished getting dressed in a white blouse, a black pencil skirt and black flats. I put my hair in a high ponytail and put on some light makeup. Once I was satisfied with my look I grabbed my purse and walked out of the room. 

Zak was in the living room on his laptop when he looked up from it and saw me. He smiled and said, "You look nice, babe."

"Thank you." I blushed as I grabbed a water bottle from the fridge. "Do you need me to get you anything on my way back?"

"No. I'm fine." He got up and walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me. "Good luck today."

"Thanks." I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a kiss. "What are you going to do while I'm gone?"

"I'm continuing on with my job hunt. Want to go to the beach when you get back?"

"Sure. I got to go now."

"Okay." He smiled before pecking my lips and letting me go. "I love you."

"I love you, too." I headed out and drove to UCLA. 

*Two hours later*

"I got the job!" I screamed as I bust through the door. 

Zak's eyes widened as he heard the news. "Really?!" He ran to me and engulfed me into a hug. 

"Yes!" I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Guess how much I'll be making a year?"

He asked, smiling, "How much?"

"Twenty thousand."

His eyes widened again and he smiled. "You're joking, right?!" I laughed and shook my head. "Babe, that's great! I didn't know they paid students now. This is awesome!"

"Yeah it is! I was just as shocked as you were!" I glanced at his laptop. "How's job searching?"

"I found about two. One is like being Peter Parker and the other one is working at a front desk at a car dealership."

I laughed at how he named the job. "They sound okay. I would go for the Peter Parker position. You like photography, right?"

"Yeah it's alright. I'd rather much do that than work at a dealership. I heard that the most crankiest bosses are at a dealership."

"Oh really?" I chuckled. "I thought they would be at any other job."

He playfully rolled his eyes. "Okay, smarty. Let's go to the beach."

We went and got dressed then headed out. I missed coming out here. I haven't been out here in months. It felt like years! I miss the sand brushing against my feet and swimming in the ocean, mostly surfing. 

We decided to walk since it wasn't that far. When we got there it wasn't as much people as usual around this hour until six. That's when everyone is getting off of work for the weekend and it doesn't stay quiet until two in the morning. We need to get out and have some fun anyways until we start school Monday. 

We walked up and down the shore, holding each other's hand and listening to the waves. It was so peaceful. I don't know why we didn't choose the beach as our hang out spot instead of the lake. But it's okay. It's somewhere that only the two of us are at by our selves and no one is around.

"What are you thinking about?" I heard Zak say, cutting me from my thoughts. 

I looked at him and smiled. "Nothing. Just listening to the sound of the waves. What are you thinking about?"

"I was thinking about where should we have our wedding at. Should we have it here on the beach?"

"Zak, when you do want to have the wedding first of all?"

He sighed. "I don't know when we'll have a wedding. With everything going on, we'll have to wait."

"I was thinking the same thing. We might have to have it after we finish school. I don't want to go to the justice of the peace either."

"Yeah." He chuckled. "You know, after college I have to go to Film School, right?"

"Yes I do."

"I found one that I would want to go to."

I looked up at him and smiled. "Really? Where?"

"Michigan."
